Photography enthusiasts are advised to prepare a wide-angle lens, at least below 24mm, to fully capture the magnificent scenery of Arashiyama. Especially when shooting from the Togetsukyo Bridge, a wide-angle lens can encompass the bridge piers, river, and red-leaved mountains, presenting the unique autumn charm of Arashiyama. Walking down the stone steps along the riverbank to the riverside path, the perspective suddenly changes. Watching the shallow clear water of the Katsura River gently flow past the cormorant fishing boats, with boatmen dressed in traditional attire, holding long poles, slowly gliding across the river, creates a moving ukiyo-e painting. Switching to a standard lens at this time can better capture the boatmen's focused expressions and the intertwined details of the red leaves. The most unforgettable moment was at dusk, when the sun set, and golden sunlight penetrated the maple leaves, sprinkling onto the river, as if the entire Katsura River was dyed golden. I also tried dango for the first time, and it was sweet and salty and delicious! If you see a house with three ice cream models in the Arashiyama shopping street, you should definitely try it >_<

#thingstodo Beautiful country to see with a wide river of boats paddling by and a bridge to cross. Cute little restaurants and shops surround both sides of the river with the bamboo forest located nearby. The river area is gorgeous towards sunset hours as the colors of the turquiose water and surrounding area get that 'golden hour glow'. Makes for a more laid back day, but the area does get quite busy midday, would recommend an early morning visit or afternoon/sunset visit to avoid crowds.

#thingstodo This is an awesome experience! The bamboo forest is quite incredible, although very busy. Would advise going very early if you want to get any good photos without lots of other people. The monkey park is a fair hike up the hill but worth it. You can feed them and they're everywhere. There was also a garden park area; very pretty and the ticket included a green matcha tea which was very nice. The hiking trails give excellent views - overall Arashiyama is a must-see for anyone traveling in Kyoto.

There are quite a lot of coffee in Japan, but I only prefer this small shop on the side of the moon bridge. I can sit by the river and watch the rickshaw pull the young lady wearing a fine kimono, watching the egrets stay on the shore and wait for the predator. Look at the clouds on the moon bridge slowly drifting. I saw the moon bridge for the first time or on the paper painting of Ukiyo-e. I really knew how wonderful it was when I was around.
