The Archaeological Museum of Olympia is located east of the entrance to the ruins of Olympia on the Peloponnese Peninsula in Greece, adjacent to the revered sanctuary of Zeus and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The museum was built between 1883 and 1886 and is the first provincial archaeological museum in Greece. The museum has a total of 9 exhibition halls, collecting and exhibiting artifacts such as pottery, sculptures, bronzes, weapons and equipment, and sports equipment from various periods excavated from the ruins of Olympia. The exhibits are displayed in chronological and thematic order, from the prehistoric period to the Roman era. Among them, a bronze statue of a chariot driver created in 475 BC is particularly eye-catching, showing the outstanding skills of ancient Greek sculpture. In addition, the museum also houses the archaeological excavation results of the Temple of Zeus and many precious artifacts related to the history of Olympia.
