On a trip to Aichi, I saw the "Arimatsu Townscape".
The "Arimatsu Townscape" stretches for about 800m along the Tokaido Road and is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
The streetscape here is still reminiscent of the post town built in the Edo period. There were volunteers guiding visitors around the streetscape. It was a tourist spot that you could easily explore in half a day. It's a recommended tourist spot for those who want to take a leisurely stroll through a calm streetscape.
It's definitely worth a visit!

Arimatsu City in Aichi Prefecture is most famous for Arimatsu-cho, the buildings on both sides are full of Edo period characteristics🌟
Moreover, Arimatsucho is a place rich in kapok kneading dye "Arisatsu kneading dye", and there are many wooden businesses that retain the appearance of that time. Their machiya is very special, the outer wall coated with a thick layer of soil painted cage made is one of the cultural heritage, worth seeing 👍🏻

Touring Arimatsu in Autumn
Arimatsu, a town of historical exploration and traditional beauty
Arimatsu-cho is a town in Midori Ward, Nagoya City. Arimatsu-cho is a collective name for the area that includes Arimatsu, where the old streetscape along the Tokaido Road remains, and Okehazama, where the Battle of Okehazama took place during the Sengoku period. The old-fashioned streetscape has been designated as a nationally important traditional buildings preservation district, making it a town with a deep sense of history and tradition.
Along the Tokaido road in Arimatsu, there are still many traditional buildings such as Japanese tile roofs with utensils, nurigome-zukuri, and mushiko-mado windows.
While you're strolling around, look for a delicious cafe.
