Once you arrive: Walk through Princes Street Gardens, here you can look up to the Edinburgh castle 🏰 and also visit the Ross Fountain ⛲️ Photo spots 📷 : You can visit Water of Leith Walkway through Dean Village and head towards Circus Lane, a small street full of flowers 🌺 Coffee ☕️: At the end of Circus Lane there’s a plant shop called Grow Urban which also do excellent coffee. After all, Edinburgh is Scotland, and the weather is unstable. Strong winds and heavy rains are common, but it is the magical weather that creates such beautiful scenery. I see many people say that the buildings in Edinburgh are dilapidated and the weather is bad, I really can't understand it~ · As someone who has been to Edinburgh three times, I really love this city. It can be said to be my favorite city in the whole of Britain. So what is there to do in Edinburgh? 1️⃣The National Museum of Scotland/Art Gallery are both free. If you want to learn about Scottish history, you must go there. 2️⃣The castle is worth visiting to see the Heart of Scotland and "A Little Cannon". You need to buy tickets online in advance during the peak season. The castle is in the center of the city and can be seen from all angles. 3️⃣Wait for the sunset at Calton Hill. Friends with more energy recommend climbing to the top of Arthur's Seat, which I personally think is much more spectacular than Calton Hill. 4️⃣ Street performers play bagpipes from time to time on the Royal Mile 5️⃣Join the Ghost Tour at night and dream back to the Middle Ages! 6️⃣ How can you come to Scotland and not take part in a whisky tour! There are many whisky tasting tours in Edinburgh. I highly recommend the Johnnie Walker Princes Street Experience Center. It has 8 floors and provides a full immersive experience of light, sound, electricity, smell and taste, which fully showcases the Scottish whisky culture. The 1820 restaurant on the top floor is just opposite the Edinburgh Castle, which is the best view of the castle in my mind. 7️⃣ The Christmas market in Edinburgh is very gorgeous, and the entire Prince Street Gardens is full of Christmas atmosphere. Winter is not the best season with low temperatures, strong winds, and short sunshine hours, but there is a certain chance of seeing the aurora. 8️⃣ There are many second-hand shops in Edinburgh, which are very suitable for retro lovers to shop. W.Armstong & Son is a very famous second-hand shop. 9️⃣ For those who don’t want to walk the citywalk, you can take the Citysight seeing sightseeing bus, where you can see the entire old town. 🔟The hotel can be booked on Prince Street, close to the train station, and across Prince Street is the old town PS: Every August is Edinburgh’s Art Festival and Military Tattoo. There are many tourists and prices are high, but the atmosphere of the Art Festival is really good. During the Military Tattoo, I took pictures of Edinburgh’s fireworks 🎆, which looked like something out of a fairy tale!

When we reached there, we were actually quite tired. Thus we didn't went up the hill and just took some photos at the bottom. Even though we didn't climb up to the summit, it looked spectacular from below too. It must have been nice to look down from the summit.

Hike to Arthur's Seat in the afternoon. It is muddy and slippery on rainy days, so you need to pay attention to safety. The second half of the journey is steeper. The view from the top is very wide, and you can see Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle and the port.
