I visited with my kids, and it was so much fun to be able to observe various animals up close. It was a special experience to see native Australian animals like koalas and kangaroos in person. Also, the natural environment surrounding the zoo is well preserved, so it was great for a walk. Taronga Zoo is the perfect place to spend a day with your family.

Last visited 28 December 2022 so thought I'd share a review on here. Fabulous zoo!! Far better than any zoo's in NZ. Cost is only NZ$50 (or about AU$44) and that included the gondola. Return ferry to Circular Quay - public transport is dirt cheap (Opal) compared with NZ. Bird and Seal Show is wonderful. Though the seal show line is super long, we still managed to get a seat for the first time at the front. It'll be great if this zoo could order heaps of size L t-shirts for men and a variety especially for the summer holidays. Good thing we visited before they closed the gondola for renovations. Weather was beautiful. A day trip well worth it. We'll be back in Syd end of this year (late December) for a solid 2 weeks. Getting There - ferry from Circular Quay Directly to the zoo. There will be a zoo free bus wait for you but however I don’t know why getting back to the pier again cost money🤷🏻♀️ Attractions - Koala 🐨 of course. Don’t miss out to get a seat to see seal show at 2pm! 🦭 Hotels - I stayed at the very near Central station hostel. It’s was alright. But if you not in the budget, staying at Peninsula hotel might be a dream for me. Food & Restaurants - there is Mc Donald in the zoo if you hungry. But I tried the Aussie healthy burger names grill’d back in town and it is also not too bad to be hungry waiting to come back here Shopping - there is two souvenirs shop as I believe at the zoo.
