Baiyu County | Faith and life, Baiyu Temple and the village are integrated into one
Baiyu County is located in a narrow canyon, and the houses on the hillside of the county are what people call "Baiyu Temple."
I took the driveway to Baiyu Temple, which was a bit far. When I went down the mountain, I found that there were steps in the county that could be used to get up closer and faster.
In my opinion, temples are all similar, and I have seen many along the way, with tall golden Buddha statues, intricate carvings, and beautiful patterns.
But what touched me about Baiyu Temple is that the temple here is integrated with Tibetan dwellings, with no clear boundaries. Unlike Han Buddhism, where square walls enclose several Buddha halls.
I went deep into the narrow alleys (the last few pictures), and the road was very bad! Only one person can walk, and it is uneven. In some places, you need to bend down and drill down. Some people's "gate" is on the edge of the cliff. When I walked over, it was dark, and I was afraid of slipping, so I squatted down and moved over little by little. Thinking about it carefully, I was shocked. This is actually a "village"! It is the "home" of many people.
On the way down the mountain, I met elementary school students wearing red scarves after school. I asked, "Besides monks, there are ordinary people living here, right? Do they all live together?" They said, "Yes." On their way home from school, two little girls saw the Mani stone pile and piously put their heads against the stone and muttered something.
