My first trip after the Spring Festival was not far away. I took a 2-hour high-speed train from Guangzhou to Ganzhou West, a small city with a rich cultural heritage. It is the best-preserved Northern Song city in China today, with many relics from the Northern and Southern Song dynasties, and is known as the "Song City Museum." The old city of Ganzhou has many historical sites that are close together, making it ideal for a city walk. I was lucky to come at the right time, but the nearby Ciyun Pagoda is still under maintenance. ② The Fushou Canal Museum is a 2-minute walk from the Confucius Temple. It introduces the secret of Ganzhou's thousand-year flood-free history. The whole poem is: "Under Yugu Terrace, the clear river flows, how many tears of travelers in between. Looking northwest to Chang'an, countless mountains are pitiful. The green hills cannot be covered, after all, they flow eastward. Leaving Jingdezhen, we headed southwest through Jiangxi Province to Ganzhou for a rest. I didn't know much about Ganzhou before, but I found out that it is the largest prefecture-level city in East China, and it has the most complete Song Dynasty city wall and pontoon bridge. I was filled with respect. We visited the Song Dynasty city at night. It was brightly lit, and there were people in ancient costumes taking photos from time to time. It was like being in a TV drama. Unfortunately, it was too dark to see the inscriptions on the Song Dynasty city wall. So, in the morning, we went to the Song Dynasty pontoon bridge. Like the Song Dynasty city wall, it has been around for thousands of years and has been constantly repaired. It is still in use today. By the bridge, fishermen were drying fish and selling all kinds of dried fish and salted fish. Some people were fishing by the pontoon bridge, some were swimming in the river, and some were boating and fishing in the river. In front of the pontoon bridge, there are three famous chess games: Sun Ce and Lü Fan from the Three Kingdoms period, the Immortal Game of Liu Zhongfu from the Tang Dynasty, and Go Seigen and Hideyuki Fujisawa. By the pontoon bridge, fishermen were selling all kinds of local dried fish, some people were boating and fishing in the lake, and some were swimming in the river. The Bajingtai Pavilion, named by Su Dongpo, was rebuilt in the 1980s after being damaged, so the details in the sunlight are not perfect, but the Bajingtai Pavilion is still well worth a visit. What made me happiest was that I found more than a dozen bricks with inscriptions on the city wall next to the Bajingtai Pavilion, one of which clearly read "Xining 2nd Year"! From 1069 to 2025, a thousand-year encounter... The sign of the cafe next to the Bajingtai Pavilion used the calligraphy of Huang Tingjian. Ganzhou is really a city suitable for living and slow travel. Apart from the 158 yuan dinner last night and the 3 yuan parking fee this morning, I didn't make any other contributions to Ganzhou. Oh, and they gave us some hot skin and crispy soybeans for dinner, which my wife thought were better than the main course. I hope to come back again...

Origin of the name: The governor Kong Zonghan "cut stones as the foundation and cast iron to reinforce the base," repaired the earthen city into a brick city, built a tower on it, painted the eight scenic spots near Ganzhou into the "Eight Views of Qianzhou," and invited Su Dongpo to write a poem. Since then, Bajingtai has become famous. 2. Bajingtai was originally a wooden structure. It was first built in the Jiayou period of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was named after the governor Kong Zonghan built the terrace and painted the "Eight Views of Qianzhou" and asked Su Shi to write a poem for it. The current Bajing Terrace is a three-story ancient-style building, with a total height of 28.5 meters and a total area of 574 square meters. It was built along the city wall and was originally a wooden structure, which was destroyed by fire several times. It was rebuilt in the Song style in 1983. The flying eaves, dougong brackets, painted beams, and red pillars make it magnificent.

Songchao Sleepless City is located at 8-6 Jianguo Road, Jiefang Street, Zhanggong District, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is a famous tourist attraction that includes Yu Guta, Bajingtai, the former residence of Mr. Jiang Jingguo, Weijia Courtyard, Fushougou Museum, etc. It shows the style of the Song Dynasty. The ancient buildings in the old city and the high-rise buildings in the new city complement each other, and the night view is charming.

For accommodation in Ganzhou, we highly recommend Bajing Lake House (Guyutai Bajing Park). The staff is very friendly. Since I went there very early and was very tired, and there was no room available before check-in time, the staff member Xiao Li upgraded me to a lake view room for free (I never thought that such a good thing as a free room upgrade would be possible) It was my turn hahahahahaha, and I troubled him many times after that, thank him very much). The environment is as shown in the picture, there is no filter, what you see is what you get, and there is also breakfast. The steamed buns, leek boxes and noodles are all handmade by the aunt. They are not inferior to the outside at all and are very delicious. Since it is located in the old city, it is very close to the surrounding attractions and can basically be reached on foot. If you want to take a small road to the city that never sleeps, you can ask the staff and you can get there in five or six minutes.
