Baoen Temple, the full name of Chixiu Baoen Temple, is located in Pingwu County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, 184 kilometers away from the urban area of Mianyang. It is a well-preserved Ming Dynasty palace-style Buddhist temple complex in China. Baoen Temple was built by Wang Xi and Wang Jian, the hereditary native officials of the Xuanfu Division of Longzhou in the Ming Dynasty, and their sons were presided over by the imperial decree. Sitting west to east, the monastery covers an area of 27,800 square meters and a building area of 3,500 square meters. The 300-meter-long central axis is arranged symmetrically. Because it is completely modeled on the layout and design of the Forbidden City in Beijing, it is known as the "Palace in the Deep Mountains". The whole temple is a palace-style building of all Nanmu structure, with a large scale, harmonious layout and strong architectural features. The architectural carvings are exquisite, the Buddha statues are beautiful and vivid, and the paintings and murals are rich in content. The thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Avalokitesvara statue carved from the whole nanmu in the Hall of Great Compassion, the wheel-turning scriptures and clay sculptures of dragons in the Huayan Collection, as well as the painted murals all over the temple, are all rare art treasures in the world.
