This plaza is easily located as it is very close to the marina and the ferry port with the tram track being within easy reach. There are several monuments here with the most distinctive being the memorial to the 39 residents of the island who fought and died on Franco's side in the Civil War in the 1930s. Controversial or not it is hard to miss the memorial and with it's location on the seafront it makes a good meeting place and a good starting point when exploring the city. I visited many places while traveling around Spain, but this was the place that felt the most ‘Spanish!’ 💃 The buildings that glowed yellow in the sunlight, the blue sky, and the canals with calm water flowing… It was so nice just to look at them 🥺 I didn’t know about it, so I couldn’t go!
