[Rome🇮🇹] A classic Rome walking plan for one day😉
Surprisingly, many famous places are close together, so it's a historic tourist destination that you can walk around without using public transportation.
Here is a plan for touring Rome on foot, which is a classic example! !
① Colosseum (photos 1 and 2)
The starting point is the Colosseum, a symbol of Rome.
It is a circular arena built about 2000 years ago.
When I actually went there, it was bigger than I imagined, about the size of the Tokyo Dome.
I was amazed that the ancient Roman civilization could build such a magnificent arena 2000 years ago.
If you want to see the inside, you need to purchase a ticket online in advance, otherwise you won't be able to enter on the day, so be careful! !
② Roman Forum (photo 3)
Next is the Roman Forum, about a 2-minute walk from the Colosseum. 🤍
This is also a large square where you can feel the history of ancient Rome.
It is said that it was once the center of administration and the life of the Roman people.
There are ruins here and there, from big to small, and it really feels like you've stepped into ancient Rome.
This is also a large tourist spot, so take your time to feel the history of Rome 😉
Like the Colosseum, you will need to purchase tickets in advance.
There are also tickets that are combined with the Colosseum, so check them out~
③ The Mouth of Truth (Photo 4)
Next is the Mouth of Truth, which is familiar from Roman Holiday.
It is located about an 11-minute walk from the Roman Forum.
It is a small spot, but it is a popular spot, so there is a line to take photos lol
It is said that if you lie and put your hand in the mouth, your wrist will be cut off.
Please try putting your hand in the mouth and taking a photo like in Roman Holiday! !
④ The Baths of Caracalla (Photos 5-8)
Finally, the Baths of Caracalla. As the name suggests, it is a large bath built by the Roman Emperor Caracalla.
It is about a 22-minute walk from the Mouth of Truth.
It may seem a little far, but it takes about 16 minutes by bus, so I recommend taking a walk there.
This is also a famous ancient Roman ruin, but it's surprisingly a hidden gem, so there weren't many people there.
Unlike the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, you can buy tickets at the counter and enter on the day.
This is also quite large, and I was surprised that such a large bathhouse existed 2000 years ago.
The sculptures and wall paintings are still vividly preserved, and it was a very beautiful bridge.
The surrounding area is like a large park, and there are benches, so it's a good place to sit and take a break!
Explore Rome on foot and enjoy the beautiful remains of the ancient city.
