The first Asian exhibition of Armenian artist Kevork Mourad, featuring live painting.
📰 Kevork Mourad, born in 1970 in Qamishli, Syria, is an Armenian artist based in New York. He is known for his unique artistic style, skillfully integrating painting, video art, and live performance. He has performed on the streets with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble and has also created works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
📰 Today marks his first exhibition in Asia, with the artist himself present to explain the inspiration behind his works. He will also be painting live at the Perrotin gallery, using ink to outline lines on the white walls, then smudging with his fingertips and the side of his palm ✋. A black and white painting, created with flowing, effortless strokes, light and agile. His creation is more like an intuitive presentation, an expression of stream of consciousness.
