Beijing's summer opens with a trip to the 'Altay' in the suburbs of Beijing
I heard you can harvest leeks here and make dumplings on the mountain?
I heard this is the top-level alpine meadow landscape in Beijing?
I heard this is the Beijing version of Altay!?
Before even entering the real Beiling Mountain Scenic Area, you can see blue skies, white clouds, and herds of cattle and sheep.
The distant slopes are lush and green, layer upon layer, all proclaiming:
This is already the most beautiful time of midsummer.
This is my first time going to Beiling Mountain.
They say it's a hike, but it's really just a weekend stroll~
Two people with just a small backpack, packed with apples and sausages, two bottles of water, wearing short sleeves, shorts, hats, and a sun-protective shirt, and we set off.
The route we chose ultimately took 2.5 hours, including climbing the mountain, lying on the grass to sunbathe, and taking photos. Except for a small section of gravel road that was a bit slippery and needed caution, the whole route was easy to walk, and regular sports shoes were completely fine.
📍 Navigation: Jiulongwa (Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province)

✔️ For those departing from Beijing
You will first arrive at Ta'ersi > Jiulongwa > Jiangshuihe Folk Village. After reaching Jiulongwa, walk two hundred meters in the direction of Jiangshuihe, and you will see a sign by the roadside that says 'Beiling Mountain to Leek Slope,' from where you can climb the mountain.
✅ Weather
When the weather is good, it's very sunny, so bring a sun hat and sunglasses; the perceived temperature is cool, just wear a long-sleeve shirt to block the wind, as it's quite windy at the top of the mountain.
✅ Camping
Carts can't make it up, so you need to carry your gear if you want to camp.
✅ Pets
Pet-friendly, we even saw a very cute little dog climbing the mountain with its owner at the top.
