Trip to Bendigo 🇦🇺
It was a short weekend getaway to Bendigo, Australia. We were struck by its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and the beauty of its architecture.
A visit to the Bendigo Art Gallery is a must 😍. The gallery houses an impressive collection of both Australian and international art, and we found ourselves completely captivated by the exhibitions. I would recommend spending at least a couple of hours here to truly appreciate the variety on display.
📍42 View St, Bendigo VIC 3550, Australia.
After the art gallery, we explored Sacred Heart Cathedral, one of Australia’s largest cathedrals. The towering spires and the stunning stained-glass windows are breathtaking. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon 🌅 when the light filters through the windows, creating an almost magical atmosphere inside the cathedral.
📍66 Short St, Bendigo VIC 3550, Australia.
We also took a walk through Rosalind Park, which is located right in the heart of the city. It's a perfect place to relax after exploring the city. If you visit in autumn 🍂 , the park is especially beautiful with its changing foliage, making it ideal for pictures. We would recommend going in the early morning to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
📍Pall Mall, Bendigo VIC 3550, Australia.
For a unique experience, we visited the Central Deborah Gold Mine. The underground tour was fascinating, and we learned so much about Bendigo’s gold rush history. If you're not claustrophobic, this is a must-do experience🙌 I would recommend the 60-minute tour for a comprehensive overview.
📍 76 Violet St, Bendigo VIC 3550, Australia.
When it comes to dining 🥘 we had a fantastic meal at Masons of Bendigo. The menu is modern Australian, and I would recommend trying their seasonal tasting menu. The flavors were incredible, and everything was beautifully presented. It’s the perfect place for dinner after a day of exploring.
📍25 Queen St, Bendigo VIC 3550, Australia.
