Bishamon-do was built in 703 and is located in Yamashina Ward, Kyoto. It is a temple of the Tendai Sect. The temple was named Bishamon-do because of its dedication to Bishamonten, one of the seven gods of good fortune in Japan. Many Japanese come here to pray for prosperous business and family happiness. Bishamon-do is not very big, and it only takes half an hour to turn around for a week. Tourists come here to enjoy the maple leaves. This is a famous maple viewing place in Kyoto. During the maple leaf season every year, the scenery here is very beautiful.
