No words can describe what an awe inspiring, amazing and beautiful experience this game drive at the Askari Game Lodge was for us. We were lucky enough to only have our friends as the group for the game drive and that made it so much more fun. We had the best tour guide and were able to enjoy ourselves while learning a lot about all the different animals they had, which included lions, elephants, giraffes, ostrich and buffaloes. We also dined at their restaurant after the two hour tour and the food did not disappoint. #yearofrabbit #south_africa #tripblazers

The Cradle of Humankind is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in South Africa. It is known for the fossil of early humans. Getting There - I went there with a local tour guide from Johannesburg. Attractions - 1. Museum + Exhibition at Maropeng Visitor Centre This is a super informative exhibition that teaches us about the evolution and origin of humankind and the different "relatives" of early humans. You can see many fossils and stone tools. 2. There is a very exciting indoor boat tour which is an immersive experience and lets you experience the weather conditions that ancient humans would have experienced. 3. Viewpoint at Museum roof This gives a good vantage view of the entire Gauteng. A brewery & equestrian farm set in the northern west of Gauteng, Black Horse is just the spot to soothe the soul. The tranquil and refreshing scenery makes all the more reason to remain there longer! I had the beautiful opportunity to leave there from the West Rand in Johannesburg, about an hour's drive. They have excellent craft beer and a divine menu accommodating to everyone, young and old! #localguides

Another great hiking spot in Johannesburg perfect for a quick morning hike is Cradle Moon. Picturesque trails that follow the Cradle Moon River and get you really close to some cool animals. Highly recommend going early in the morning to see the animals grazing. This reserve also has a cool mountain bike trail with some unique obstacles. There are several trails to choose from and there is a snack shop at the entrance. There is also a lovely restaurant with great coffee and delicious food to treat yourself to after a long walk in nature.
