We drove to Xishuangbanna during the 2023 Lunar New Year. This was our second time driving to Xishuangbanna. We love this city and its sunshine. ☀️ The temples in Xishuangbanna are as good as those in Thailand. Banruo Temple is a very unique temple. It is small and can be visited in about half an hour. Banruo Temple is about a 20-minute drive from Gaozhuang. It is located on the back half of the mountain in Manzhen Village, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a temple for the local villagers. Banruo Temple has a long history. It was built in 833 and is the oldest temple in Xishuangbanna. It was originally a holy place for local villagers to worship. It has become a niche attraction because of the unique charm of the white pagoda! Compared to the attractions in the city, this place is deserted! (There were not many people when we went there, but I can't say for now.) The white pagoda shines in the sun. It is very photogenic. 😆 You don't need to edit the photos. The original photos are amazing. 😍 This is a free temple. No ticket is required, but you need to follow the rules for entering the temple: no revealing clothes, such as camisole dresses, off-shoulder tops, and shorts and skirts above the knee. ❌ In addition, you cannot show your shoulders during the visit and photo shooting, or the security guard will warn you. ⚠️ Please note that there is basically no shelter here, so be sure to take sun protection measures!

Before the trip, I thought it would take at least 4 to 5 days to fully enjoy Xishuangbanna. But it turned out that 3 days were enough. Here is my itinerary for your reference: Day 1 Take a flight the night before and arrive at the hotel at around 11 pm. Then, go to Starlight Night Market. The clothes and slippers here are very affordable. Dai-style clothes are CNY 25 for a set of 5. Various vests and skirts are beautiful and cheap, and they look great in photos. After shopping, go to a nearby night market stall. The pounded chicken feet and grilled fish are super delicious. Highly recommended! Day 2 Wat Phra That Doi Wao - Manting Park (feed elephants, watch peacocks, and take photos of the sea of flowers) - Thai-style massage - Take photos at Starlight Night Market (If you are confident in your photography skills, just bring your own camera.
