Historic buildings
The traditional architectural skills of the Li people are reflected in the thatched houses, and the thatched houses in the village are very typical boat-shaped houses of the Li people. Now in the entire Li nationality area, there are not many thatched houses, and Baicha Village is a well-preserved village. Boat-shaped house The boat-shaped house is the crystallization of the construction of the Li people for thousands of years. The whole looks like an upside-down ship in appearance. The thatched cottage is a floor-to-ceiling boat-shaped house, long and wide, with low eaves, which is good for wind and rain protection. The house is divided into two sections, the front and the back. The door opens to both ends. There are three tall pillars in the middle of the thatched hut. "Ding" and "Goding" symbolize women, that is, a family is composed of men and women. The house is muddy. The villagers dug back the clay from the outside, flattened the ground, poured water on it, stepped on the ground with both feet, and dried the ground in the sun or air. After doing this many times, the ground was flat and hard. The boat-shaped houses of the Li people are like the stilted buildings of the Miao family, and the bamboo buildings of the Dai people in Yunnan are traditional buildings of ethnic minorities. On the southeast side of the village are the concentrated barns in the village. The barns are backed by cornerstones and suspended on the ground to prevent moisture and rodents. On the cornerstones, vertical and horizontal square wood is placed, and planks are laid as the barn floor. The top is framed with round beams, the roof is erected by bamboo and wood, and the roof is covered with thatch to prevent rain. A layer of clay and mud is used inside and outside the barn, and a layer of 4 cm of mud is applied to the floor, both of which play a role in sealing. Fire prevention is the key to thatched houses. In the village, adults use water or grass ash to put out the fire when they go out. Once the fire is on, hit the gong immediately and hear the sound of the gong. If someone nearby does not come back to fight the fire, according to the village regulations, the villagers will be fined three hundred, that is, 100 catties of rice, 100 catties of wine, and 100 catties of meat. This seems to be a kind of village rules and regulations of Baicha Village, but it is actually a kind of culture of ethnic minorities. In Baicha Village, the traditional Li culture has been inherited. In the village, an elderly grandmother can be seen weaving Li brocade, a rare weaving method today - tie-dyeing. You can also see women making mountain orchid rice wine, where the tradition of planting mountain orchids has always been preserved and brewed by themselves. There is also the Li water hyacinth, which is a form of transportation and is very rare. It is said that when people cross the river, they take off their clothes and put them in the gourd, then seal their mouths, and people carry the gourd across the river. The origin of Baicha Village: The Meifu dialect of Baicha Village is called "Biecha", the word "Bie" in Li language is a muddy field with water, and the word "cha" is a thick bark tree. At that time, there was a muddy field with water next to the village. There are a lot of pachyderms growing near the Lannitian. They named the village "Biecha", which means the pachyderm near the Lannitian. Baicha Village is a transliteration of the Li language.
