Jeju Island National Museum (Ando Tadao, Kusama Yayoi, Paik Nam-Jun, Nara Yoshitomo)
#Domestic travel
This is a review of the Bonte Museum located in Jeju Island. It is not a transformation, but a natural form. The museum outlines that it is to explore the beauty of the original human race, meaning the original form.
We plan to take a bus to the midpoint and then take a Kakao Taxi to the museum, arriving around 4:10. Then, a sudden downpour comes down hard. It feels like pouring water from a bucket.
It rains for about 30 minutes and then it calms down, and then the tour begins in earnest. I don't know anything about architecture, but I went on a tour of various buildings by architect Tadao Ando during my trip to Japan.
Hokkaido's Water Church, Buddha's Hill, Tokyo's Omotesando Hills, numerous buildings in Kyoto and Osaka, Hyogo's Prefectural Museum of Art and Awaji Yumebutai, Westin Hotel (currently Grand Nikko), Naoshima's Chichu Art Museum, Okayama's Takahashi Nariwa Art Museum, etc. I'll write down what I remember.
Yes! The main museum is a building designed by Ando. I knew that there were Tadao's buildings in Korea, but this is my first time actually trying it. It's because I've been going to Japan every month for the past 10 years or so, so my trip to Korea started last year.
In addition, this place has the Kusama Yayoi Museum, works by Ttaeng-Ttaeng, and an experience space. There's also James Turrell's space art, and a place like Monet's pond, so it's similar to the Chichu Art Museum in many ways.
In addition, you can see the works of Nam June Paik, the pioneer of video art, Korea's pride, and a miniature version of Aomori's Dog by Yoshitomo Nara, who visited Aomori. It was a space like a comprehensive gift set.
It seems like it will be its 10th anniversary next year. The view overlooking Mt. Sanbangsan is amazing, and the LOVE sculpture on the rooftop and the HOPE sculpture indoors are small but enough to capture in pictures.
It was a place that was enough to make you feel like you were in Japan for about 90 minutes. If you come to Jeju, where the 20,000 won ticket price is not at all regrettable, come to the treasure-like art department store, Bonte Museum~!!! Thank you!
