#australiatrip Visited this lovely corner shop bakery for a coffee and a cake, what a great place this is. Staff were welcoming, helpful and amicable. All the cakes and pastries looked very tempting so decided on the almond praline crossaint which was recommended and did not disappoint. Will definitely try to return to sample a couple of more cakes, savouries, breads while watching the world and the trams pass by. Bourke Street Bakery is a well known bakery that started out in Surry hills. I have had stuff from there many times in the past. Most recently, I purchased a loaf of sourdough, a beef pie, and some cookies, and thoroughly enjoyed both the experience and the quality of the products. I love the Beef Pie's crispy buttery puff pastry and sausage roll with a flavour of pork and fennel could be the most delicious rolls I've ever had! The pastry is flakey and beautifully crisp, and the meat is really excellent. The lemon tart tasted good in the end, it's just fresh. The ginger creme brulee tart is so wonderful that it's not a good idea to share cause it’s just so great to have another one.
