Visiting Shanghai with "Fang Hua" (Part 1)
After watching the two latest episodes of "Fang Hua" on Saturday, I suddenly wanted to go to Huanghe Road. When I got there, I was really shocked. There were so many people. It seemed that everyone was there for "Fang Hua". So we followed Mr. Bao to take a "Fang Hua"-style citywalk!
✅Must experience:
1. Taisheng Garden: This restaurant is right at the intersection of Huanghe Road. It is said to be the original form of Zhizhen Garden. We checked in across the street. The prices of the set meals there seem reasonable. You can give it a try.
2. International Hotel: Just opposite the Moss Holy Garden, the butterfly cakes are well-known. Shanghai people also buy them to eat, but there are always long queues all year round! A confused tourist passed by and asked: Why does it smell so good? ! ", haha, I didn't know that such a delicious thing was right in front of me~
3. Xinghualou: Xinghualou is opposite the International Hotel. The Dingsheng cake that my uncle loves to eat is available here. A portion of four costs 16 yuan. It is delicious, cheap and can bring good luck!
4. Jiajia Soup Dumplings: This soup dumpling shop has been open for quite some time. There wasn’t much queuing before, but recently there have been long queues. When you are here, you must try the freshly made and steamed soup dumplings.
5. Yuewei Restaurant: This restaurant is also mentioned in the drama. It is said that the owner has not changed in all these years. Although the price is a bit expensive, the environment and service are very good. By the way, this restaurant really has "Farewell My Concubine"~
Although the Yellow River Road is no longer as prosperous as it was in the past, it is said that it was also affected by the Asian financial crisis! But now, in addition to the old shops that are still in business, you can also experience a variety of Shanghai local snacks at one time. Scallion pancakes, crab meat noodles, yellow croaker noodles, and dumplings can be found everywhere, and the prices are cheap! The prototype of the Red Heron Restaurant in the play, "Lu Lu", is still in business, but has moved to Jing'an Temple and is now called "Lu Lu 1985".
6. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street: Walk along Nanjing West Road from Huanghe Road for less than ten minutes to reach Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Many shopping malls here still retain their neon signs. Along the way, you will see Shanghai Fashion Store (the prototype of the clothing company), Wing On Department Store (the prototype of Hulian Department Store, once renamed Hualian Department Store) and No. 1 Department Store Commercial Center (the prototype of Zhongbai No. 1 Store), as well as Dexing Restaurant, Shen Dacheng and Xinya Cantonese Restaurant, all of which are affordable and delicious traditional Shanghai flavors!
7. The Bund: We walked along Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and ate all the way to the Bund. We also checked in at the Peace Hotel where Mr. Bao and his uncle lived, as well as No. 27 The Bund. In fact, the real No. 27 was originally the Jardine Matheson Company, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and is now the House of Roosevelt. There is a restaurant on the 7th floor, and the prices are prohibitive~
8. Waibaidu Bridge: Walk along the Bund towards the Monument to the People's Heroes and you will reach the Waibaidu Bridge. It is a great place to take photos. After crossing the bridge is the Shanghai Mansion, which is an old hotel and a historically protected building.
Finally, if you still have energy, turn left after crossing the Waibaidu Bridge and walk along the Suzhou River until you reach the Shanghai Postal Museum, which is free to visit. The surrounding Rock Bund Source is also very photogenic and relatively less crowded.
