[2025 Oudtshoorn Stay] Travel Guide for Buffelsdrift Game Lodge (Updated Apr)

Last May we have been to Cape Town and accidentally saw the pictures of this lodge in the internet and decided we need to go there! So how to get there from Cape Town? Take a domestic 1 hour flight from Cape Town to George airport Then rent a car or like us just call a taxi - the ride to the lodge is around 40 mins and it’s absolutely lovely views around and the road is very good to drive. George area in May was cooler than in Cape Town so take warm clothes for the evenings! The lodge itself is just wonderful: starting from beautiful tents near the lake and antelopes with an open shower and indoor bath tub (in a tent!!!). They also offer various activities and of course safari. Buffelsdrift Game lodge is a wonderful place to stay at with good food, cozy tents and beautiful safari and animals around. But the spring sunsets there were a big bonus. They have a small pool by the lake with hippos and watching a sunset from there was the best spot actually. We were hoping to see the hippos but unfortunately you can only hear them breathing 😃 #springwander

During our stay in Buffelsdrift Game Lodge last spring we did many adventures and one of them is safari of course. I highly recommend you to take a safari with lunch which is a picnic outdoors with the nice views around. After observing different animals in a wild nature that was the best ending of the tour where you can relax and enjoy the stunning view around with a hot tea and some snacks. #springwander

It was one of the best celebrations I have ever had. When we booked this hotel we didn’t expect it to be that good and of course we didn’t expect antelopes walking around us every day 🥹 the animals are very friendly and you can even feed some of them from your hand (there is apricot tree nearby and they really loved apricots). The tent itself was perfect: it has a bathtub, shower, an ac and it is very comfy. #celebrateit

Lovely luxury tent stay surrounded by nature. It’s not the best place for a safari but a great place to enjoy some nature and a relax
