Trip to Wellington 🇳🇿
It was a short getaway to Wellington, New Zealand. Just to share some of the places and restaurants that I loved.
As a museum lover, my family and I visited Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand). It offers a comprehensive exploration of the country's history, Maori culture, and natural environment. We spent about 2-3 hours to explored around. 💯
📍55 Cable Street, Wellington 6011
We also went to Wellington Cable Car and Kelburn Lookout. We took
the iconic Wellington Cable Car from Lambton Quay to Kelburn Lookout, enjoying the panoramic views of the city and visited the Cable Car Museum.
📍Cable Car Lane, 280 Lambton Quay, Wellington 6011
💰NZD 9 round trip for adults.
After the cable car ride, we visited the famous cafe, Picnic Cafe 🍵 I ordered the Smoked Salmon Salad 🥗 which was really good 😍
💰NZD 18-25
📍 101 Glenmore St, Kelburn, Wellington 6012
We also visited Old St. Paul's Cathedral. A stunning example of 19th-century Gothic Revival architecture built entirely of native timbers. It remains one of New Zealand's most important heritage places.
📍34 Mulgrave Street, Pipitea, Wellington 6011
We also spent some time to walked around Cuba Street. A lively street known for its bohemian spirit, street performers, boutique shops, and a variety of dining options.
We went to Fidel's Cafe, which is well known for its Eggs Havana (eggs benedict with Cuban flair) and coffee ☕️ Egg Havana was delicious and I would recommend you to try this.
💰NZD 12-20 per dish
📍234 Cuba St, Te Aro, Wellington 6011
We also visited Wellington Waterfront and Oriental Bay. We strolled along the scenic waterfront, enjoy the views, and relaxed at Oriental Bay, Wellington's popular beach 🏝️
We also took the Weta Workshop Tour. A tour of the workshop behind the special effects for "The Lord of the Rings" and other major films.
📍1 Weka Street, Miramar, Wellington 6022
💰 NZD 50-60 per adult.
Last but not least, I would also recommend you to visit Zealandia Ecosanctuary. A groundbreaking conservation project that's home to some of New Zealand's rarest native animals and plants. If you were to visit this place, I would recommend you to stay here for about 2-3 hours so that you can have sufficient time to explore around.
📍53 Waiapu Road, Karori, Wellington 6012
💰NZD 23 for adults
