If it weren't for the Blue Dream cruise ship stopping at Sihanoukville, I wouldn't have come to this Cambodian city full of Chinese characters. Sihanoukville doesn't have many attractions, but the local guide made an effort to arrange a visit to a fishing port and market, where I saw the lives of ordinary people. Compared to those popular tourist cities, the people here are so simple and honest. 📍 Wat Leu: Halfway up the mountain, it is a place of tranquility. You can overlook the panoramic view of the city, and the solemn atmosphere is mixed with the smoke and fire of the world. The temple is magnificent, with exquisite carvings and gorgeous murals, and every detail shows the profound heritage of Khmer culture. The monks, dressed in orange robes, quietly practice and chant, while mischievous monkeys scurry across the rooftops. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery, and the occasional sound of bells brings peace to the mind. 📍 Wat Krom: It has a different charm from Wat Leu, with a sense of agility and openness. The temple's architecture glows with golden decorations in the sunlight. Walking along the temple, you can reach the seaside and feel the sea breeze. The aroma of the midday vegetarian meal fills the air, and this blend of religion and humanity brings a wonderful spiritual touch. 📍 Phsar Leu: A local market full of smoke and fire! A variety of small goods are dazzling. Fresh tropical fruits are piled up like small mountains, exuding a tempting aroma, and the prices are super affordable. Mangoes, durians, dragon fruits... There are also special handicrafts with a unique Cambodian style. Walking through the bustling crowd, listening to the vendors' cries, you can feel the strong local atmosphere. 📍 Ochheuteal Beach: A holiday paradise in Sihanoukville. The long beach is like a golden ribbon, and the fine and soft sand is incredibly comfortable to walk on. The locals say this is the best beach in the world. The nearby restaurants all have Chinese signs, and the locals enjoy barbecue and drinks even more than the tourists. 📍 Tomnub Rolork Village: A simple fishing village hidden away from the hustle and bustle, with fishing boats lined up and fishermen returning from the sea selling all kinds of seafood in the village. The villagers are warm and hospitable, with simple smiles on their faces, and the children play and laugh in the village. Although life is simple, it is full of happiness and satisfaction. Here, you can touch the most authentic side of Sihanoukville. A brief visit to Sihanoukville is not as bad as the rumors say. As long as you maintain basic safety awareness and follow a local guide, you can avoid most of the hidden dangers.

Honestly one of the best weeks I've had in a long time. From the second we walked into the reception of the hotel, we knew it was special. The welcoming staff, the open spaces, the shuttle rides around the resort, the restaurants, and of course, the villas were all exceptional. After a stressful year, this was the week we needed to feel peace and to refresh our minds. The beach is exclusive, the ambiance relaxing, the infinity pool is stunning, the breakfasts are delicious, and the sunsets leaves you speechless. It's been almost a month since we checked in, and I've thought about the Royal Sands every day since. We will be back.

Two main types: tent rooms and jungle rooms. Straw hats and rattan baskets were available for use. It was convenient to pack towels and other items in the basket when heading to the beach. 🍛Breakfast In addition to the buffet, you can choose from several main dishes. I ordered fried rice, which suited the Korean palate. Enjoyed some leisure time on the private beach and had a romantic moment working on the beach with a cup of coffee ordered from the hotel cafe!

You can see bioluminescence there every night (sometimes on the shore, others you need to take a boat for a few minutes), and it’s absolutely breathtaking. The perfect paradise Island escape. After a warm welcome at the harbor lounge and a 40 minute boat trip in a fantastic clean and safe speed boat we reached the tropical bliss island. The amazing Song Saa team gave us a lovely welcome and we felt immediately the good vibes and professional care from everyone. Can’t say how amazed we were about the Song Saa team. We stayed at one of the stunning private ocean front villas. Dipping into our private pool every morning, having an outdoor shower, hanging out at our lounge bed… always with the great view off the ocean and the house reeve. The villa was very spacious and beautifully designed.

There are various rooms types, including city view and sea 🌊 view. The staff there are friendly and they provide fast service, especially check-in and checkout service. The price is acceptable, ranging from 50$ to 250$. It’s may go up and down during holidays . There are big parking 🅿️ spaces here. However the swimming pool is not kid friendly. Why spend everyday in the noisy city when you can have beautiful & peaceful beach days just a 2.5hour drive from Phnom Penh? Most people see Sihanoukville as just a departure point to the islands but it is so much more than that! Currently still under development, Sihanoukville is a true hidden gem. We stayed in cool bohemian cottages just a 7min walk from the beach and spent everyday either swimming at a nearby resort or hanging out at the beach. Here are some of my favourite spots to check out: 1. Address - Brown Coffee - Seaview Oucheteal Beach Highlights - Tasty coffee, many beverage options and a scenic seating area right on the beach. If you’re a morning coffee person then be prepared to wait in long queues. Rating - 5/5 2. Address - Otres Beach Highlights - the beach is practically untouched and there is so much relaxing space in the sun and in the shade. The water is crystal clear and makes for a calming swim. Rating - 4/5 3. Address - Papa Pippo Resort Highlights - If you order a drink/food you can use their pool and WiFi. This is a great spot to hangout if you’re not in the mood for the beach. They play good music, have friendly staff and provide an overall positive atmosphere. Who doesn’t like a cocktail while dipping their feet in the water? When you arrive to Koh Rong Sanloem pier, hotel will send small boat to pick you up and drive in front of the hotel. Front desk welcome us with a drink and check in was fast and easy. Room was very nice and hotel environment is amazing, everything so clean, they paid attention to every detail. Swimming pool next to beach, white sand, tasty food are just some of the things you will experience at this hotel. Down the beach there are few bars where you can check nightlife, eat some local food, drink cocktails and etc. Also you can take some boat tour and explore other beaches around the island and enjoy in sunset. A great Asian restaurant that serve delicious breakfast and drinks. It’s located in PTT petrol station. I really appreciate the owner who came up with several style of decorations to satisfy various groups of customers. These pictures are taken from De Mug VIP room. The staffs are polite providing good and fast service. The foods are nice and serve in large amount with proper price. Everything look clean. Koh Rong Samloem Island is a Cambodian Island in the Gulf of Thailand with crystal clear water. if you don't want to hike, Sky beach is good for you, and if you love adventure and want to walk 1 hour from Sky beach to Lazy Beach. Local people can understand english and are very approachable and helpful. But before you go there, you must put cash in your pocket since there's no ATM on this island. There are some restaurants that offer you cash out thru online banking/swipe in Sky & Seracen restaurant but they charge 6%-10% per transaction.
