The hotel occasionally hosts fun events like photography salons and art exhibitions at TORO Workplace, so check with the staff to see what’s happening during your stay—it could add some extra fun to your trip. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed, whether for travel or business, this hotel is a perfect choice! I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai!

This was not my first stay at Hyatt Caption Zhongshan, and I had previously enjoyed the experience. However, my most recent visit was unfortunately disappointing. Upon check-in, I was given a noticeably smaller room than in previous stays, despite similar booking details. During this period, the hotel had taken in a large group booking, but failed to manage the situation well. There was no clear separation between group and individual guests, resulting in heavy congestion in the elevators, and delays in housekeeping services. More concerningly, I encountered guests smoking illegally on the same floor, and the hotel staff did not seem to take effective action despite the disturbance. Breakfast was chaotic and poorly managed, lacking the usual organization and attention to guest flow. It’s disheartening to see such a drop in quality and service. Unless I see clear improvements and action from hotel management, I’ll have to reconsider staying here in the future, which is truly unfortunate given my previous positive experiences.

This amazing hotel in Zhongshan Park has turned spring into an art exhibition. 💐  I came to Shanghai on a business trip with my bestie, OMG! Our admin was so generous this time! She booked us a room at the Hyatt Centric Shanghai Zhongshan Park. As befits the concept and the neighbourhood the decor is stylish and vibrant and has attracted a generally younger clientele to stay. 🚆 While the hotel is located 5mins walk from the metro exit, in practice it is another 10mins walk inside the underpass before you reach the metro proper. Pricing is a fair bit cheaper vs the Centric next door, it's an OK choice for a short stay as rooms are on the small side.

🏘️Room Type: Booked a basic room, but due to high demand, even Hyatt Globalist members didn't get an upgrade. The room is really small, and it's very cramped if you have a bit more stuff. 🧹Cleanliness: Normal, no issues. 🏕️Location: Next to Zhongshan Park Metro Station, very convenient to go downstairs and turn into the metro. This is probably the hotel's biggest advantage.📍 💗Other Tips: The new brand follows a youthful route, somewhat similar to Marriott's Moxy, with a design that appeals to young people's aesthetics. Direct access via Metro Line 2. 🏨Public Area: The hotel's design has a strong Shanghai-style atmosphere, with many abstract art illustrations adorning the corridors, creating an artistic vibe. 🏨Guest Room: We stayed in a king room with large floor-to-ceiling windows that provided ample natural light. The bathroom is designed with a wet and dry separation, and though not very large, it is very well designed and felt very comfortable during use. The drinking water in the room is quite special; there is a glass provided for guests to use at the hallway's water dispenser, which offers both hot and cold options. Other options include wontons, sandwiches, croissants, and ice cream, all healthy light food choices. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the yogurt cups are made of biodegradable material, showing the hotel's commitment to environmental protection in the details. 🌆Fun: I also participated in the Tor Factory's Dragon Boat Festival themed event, learned how to make zongzi, and even made handcrafted coffee soap from coffee grounds, which was both stress-relieving and environmentally meaningful. Making crafts with other guests I hadn't met before, there was no lack of conversation topics. 🎉Fitness: Fitness enthusiasts are in luck, as the hotel also has a multifunctional gym with cardio, strength, and free training equipment. Overall, the Hyatt Centric is a relaxing hotel to stay in without feeling pressured, and I might choose to stay here often.
