The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Republic of China. It is a memorial to the ROC's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and was completed in 1972. The total building area covers 29,464 square metres in an open space of 115,000 square metres. Nice building for photo shooting and the front garden can have spectacular view of Taipei 101. #deliciousfood One of the famous Taiwan Chinese Cuisine, A MUST EAT when in Taipei. This restaurant is always full and need to be on site earlier to draw booking slip upfront as reservation. The star of the show at Din Tai Fung, and what they are most known for, is the iconic XiaoLongBao. While “bao” means bun, these are often called Shanghai Soup Dumplings. They are filled with a delicious hot broth in addition to pork (or pork and crab). Recommended to try other DimSum, dessert 糖水, fried rice, etc which are superb and authentic. Great service and nice ambient, hence, expects more pricey since it is a branded and iconic restaurant in Taiwan.

TAIPEI ZOO is huge, and you can easily spend a whole day exploring all the different areas. The animals seem well cared for, and the habitats are pretty impressive. I loved the panda exhibit—definitely a highlight. It’s a great spot for families or anyone who enjoys seeing wildlife up close. Plus, the surrounding scenery is really beautiful, making it a relaxing day out. Inside the zoo there is train to hop on by paying TWD$ 5 for one way, the zoo as well setup with route for handicapped or those on wheelchair. The park provided FOC wheelchair rental.

Taipei 101 Observatory is a highly recommended place to visit for any visitor to Taipei. The observation deck on the 89th floor offers stunning 360-degree views of the city, and the building itself is an architectural marvel. The entrance fee for foreigner is about TWD$600 when u purchase on site at 5 th floor, upfront online pre booking may able to get better rate. The lift going up from 5th to 89th floor is very fast less than 35 seconds. Coming down is about 45 seconds. Total 3 floors to visit 89, 90 & 91. The floor 91 allows you to walk outdoors for 360 view, 91 floor may be closed subject to weather conditions.

I accompanied my son to piano lessons on Saturday and stole an hour to visit the famous "Ran Ran Life Coppii Lumii" East Store for the third time. Before coming here, I decided to try their famous pancakes🥞 There were a lot of people that afternoon, so I was arranged to sit on the third floor. Fortunately, it was a 2-person seat by the window. The sunlight pours in from the wooden windows of the old house, and paired with the retro wooden decor, for a second I have the illusion of being in a Kyoto cafe. I really like this atmosphere. Last time we sat on the 2nd floor, and the patio structure was retained in the middle, which was also very cool! I ordered the signature original butterscotch thick pancake, which was made to order. It took 20 minutes to wait, but it was totally worth it! The texture of the pancakes is different from that of regular Japanese pancakes. Ranran's pancakes are crispy on the outside and solid and slightly moist on the inside. They are sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with a large ball of what looks like orange ice cream, fresh cream, butter, and maple syrup. It is recommended for 1-2 people, but I ate it all by myself 😆 Very satisfying! With a cup of hot latte, your healing index will soar throughout the afternoon. A must visit scenic attractions when is Taipei, avoid raining day u will get splendid views on brighter day. Hiking here was wonderful! Nature at its finest! I'd like to introduce my favorite hotel, "Hotel RELAX Taipei Station Ichibankan" 🫶 ⭐️Review I was very satisfied with it, and it may have been the best hotel I stayed at in Taipei! First of all, the location is great, close to both Ximen and Taipei Station, and you can walk to Dhuoajie. The room is quiet and comfortable, and there are shops nearby that are open until late at night, so you won't have any trouble finding food even if you arrive late. There is a drugstore next to the hotel and a 24-hour McDonald's on the first floor. There is a drink corner next to the hotel lobby, and you can drink as much tea and coffee as you like. In addition, when I checked in, I was given two free beer coupons that can be used at sister hotels. I was told that I could present them by the time of check-out, but I missed the opportunity this time and couldn't drink them 😵 The room was spacious and clean, and it was great that the shower booth and toilet were separated for this price! This time, we went to Taiwan with the intention of taking it easy! A laid-back trip with light shopping, heavy eating, and a flexible itinerary that covers everything. Most importantly, the food was amazing, especially the spicy mala dishes! --- DAY 1 – Arrival in Taipei: Landmark Highlights + Strolling in Ximending After landing at the airport, we headed into the city and checked in. We started the day with a visit to Taipei 101, taking photos of the iconic skyscraper, browsing shops in the mall, and doing some light shopping. The atmosphere was great. In the evening, we strolled through Ximending Night Market, which was packed with food options. Despite the crowd, it didn’t feel overwhelming. Must-try items include bubble tea, fried chicken, and grilled meatballs! Dinner: We went all out at TAKEMURA IZAKAYA, a Japanese izakaya in Taipei. The food was delicious, the ambiance was fantastic, and it felt authentically Japanese. Highly recommended for sashimi lovers. --- DAY 2 – Spiritual and Natural Escapes We started the day at Longshan Temple, a famous temple in Taipei frequented by locals. After paying respects, we leisurely explored the surrounding area. Next, we ventured out of the city to Zhengbin Fishing Port Harbor, also known as the Rainbow Harbor. The colorful houses lining the harbor made for stunning photos, like scenes straight out of a postcard. Dinner: Our first mala hotpot experience was at Delectable Hotpot. The broth was aromatic and perfectly spicy, with plenty of ingredients and an exceptional dipping sauce! --- DAY 3 – Mountain Views and Vintage Charm We dedicated the entire day to Jiufen Old Street, a charming mountain village with a nostalgic vibe. We enjoyed local delicacies like Taiwanese glutinous rice balls, traditional milk tea, and tea house experiences. The mountain and sea views were breathtaking, reminiscent of scenes from "Spirited Away." Dinner: On the way back, we indulged in our second round of mala hotpot at Xin Mala Hotpot. This spot is popular among locals, offering rich broth, high-quality meat, and fresh ingredients. A must-visit for spice lovers. --- DAY 4 – Wrapping Up the Trip Before Heading Home Before flying back, we stopped by Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to take photos of the grand white building with its blue dome. I recently discovered a new Italian ice cream shop called L’Unicorno Gelato in an alley near Zhongshan Elementary School Station. The name means “🦄 unicorn” in Italian. The main feature is the freshly made gelato every day. The taste is different every day, and there are surprises every time you come 😋 I chose the classic #Affogato that day. The vanilla ice cream tasted a little sandy, which I really liked. It went really well with the espresso! I also tried the fruit and pistachio flavors. The fruit flavors were refreshing and not too sweet, while the pistachio flavors were rich and you could taste the fruit grains. The taste was really great. Summer is here, so we need some ice cream. That afternoon, I had just descended from the National Palace Museum. The sun pierced through the clouds after a brief summer rain. Wandering into Chun Shui Tang's Nanshi branch, I found a semi-open and tranquil space. The wooden decor blended Eastern classical elements with modern minimalism, while the gentle light spilled over books and tea sets on the tables, reminiscent of the blank spaces in an ink painting—subtle yet full of character. As the birthplace of Taiwan's bubble tea, Chun Shui Tang is more than just a place to buy a drink; it represents a lifestyle. Seated, I ordered their signature "Bubble Milk Tea" and a bowl of beef noodle soup. The drink was rich with tea aroma and creamy milk, smooth and delicate. The chewy, slightly sweet pearls evoked a sense of childlike joy and satisfaction. The beef noodle soup, with its hearty broth and tender meat, offered a comforting taste of home even while traveling. As you gaze at the picturesque mountains and shifting clouds, every step feels like walking alongside the heavens and earth. Starting early from Taipei's city center, you can take a bus winding up the mountain, passing through Zhuzihu and Lengshuikeng. The mist thickens as the altitude rises, and the summer heat of the city seems to vanish instantly. At the entrance to Qingtiangang, a stone archway welcomes visitors, leading to a well-maintained wooden boardwalk that stretches deep into the grasslands. On either side of the path, lush silvergrass and wildflowers sway gently in the breeze, while cattle graze peacefully in the distance, creating a pastoral scene. What sets Qingtiangang apart is its ethereal and vast atmosphere. Once a military site during the Japanese colonial era and later used as pastureland, it has now become a retreat for urban dwellers seeking tranquility. Standing at the highest point of the grassland, you are surrounded by emptiness, with only the sound of rustling grass and distant cowbells. Above is the boundless sky, below are undulating grassy slopes, and your body and mind seem to relax in harmony with the surroundings. In the afternoon, the mist often drifts in and out. At times, sunlight pierces through the clouds, bathing the grasslands in golden light; at other times, the fog envelops the area, making the distant mountains appear faint and dreamlike, akin to a fairyland. The interplay of light and shadow and the rhythm of nature far surpass any urban scenery. Occasionally, hikers pass by, nodding quietly in greeting, as if in this vast expanse, words and noise are unnecessary. Following the boardwalk toward Lengshuikeng, you may spot wildflowers and ferns growing quietly along the path. The trail alternates between winding and steep sections, with each turn revealing new vistas. This place was formerly the former residence of Dai Yanhui, the first Taiwanese president of the Judiciary, which was built during the Japanese colonial period. It not only completely preserves the red brick exterior walls, wooden roof frames, and Japanese-style edges, but after being restored with modern design, the space is so beautiful that people can't help but take pictures as soon as they walk in. It was built in 1915 and imitates the ancient Greek Doric architectural style of the Renaissance period. The central dome tower is nearly 30 meters high. This is also the seventh exhibition hall our family has visited using the museum card, and we have visited it from south to north. The National Taiwan Museum (main building) features natural history collections.
