Having been to Sapa before, we were excited to return and delve deeper into its natural beauty and cultural treasures. This second trip enabled us to discover some lesser-known yet equally stunning spots that we highly recommend to anyone visiting. We started our day at O Quy Ho Pass, also known as Heaven’s Gate, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range. As the sun rose, the mist slowly lifted, revealing layers of mountains bathed in golden light. This spot is perfect for dramatic landscape photography 📸 I’d recommend arriving by 5:30 AM ⛅️ to catch the sunrise. 📍Highway 4D, O Quy Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province After sunrise, we visited Ta Phin Village, home to the Red Dao ethnic minority. We explored the traditional stilt houses, lush rice terraces, and the Ta Phin Monastery ruins. The vibrant red costumes of the locals provided beautiful contrasts in our photos 📸 Around 8 AM–10 AM is the best time to visit when the light highlights the details of the rice fields and village life. 📍Ta Phin Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province Mid-morning, we returned to Cat Cat Village, a charming village known for its cascading waterfalls and traditional Black Hmong culture. We trekked along the scenic pathways and captured stunning photos of locals weaving textiles, as well as the picturesque Cat Cat Waterfall. Arrive around 10:30 AM to avoid crowds and enjoy great lighting for portraits 📸 📍Cat Cat Village, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province We also headed to Topas Ecolodge, a luxurious retreat perched on a hill with 360-degree views of the surrounding rice terraces. The serene ambiance and infinity pool overlooking the mountains made it one of the most photogenic spots on our trip. I’d recommend trying their Vietnamese set menu while soaking in the view. 📍Thanh Kim Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province We also explored the Silver Waterfall, where the cascading water glistens in the sunlight. We hiked up to the viewing platform for sweeping views of the waterfall and the lush forest below. Arriving at 3 PM gave us soft and golden light, which added a magical touch to our photos 📸 📍Highway 4D, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province To end our day, we took the cable car 🚠 to Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain ⛰️ in Indochina. Watching the sunset from the summit was an unforgettable experience, with clouds rolling over the peaks and the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. 📍cat cat village, Sa pa 🚘It takes about 6 hours from Hanoi - I recommend taking a cabin sleeping bus. (Sa Pa Express recommended) 🎟️Entrance fee: 1.5 million dong It was a rough journey to get there because it was Labor Day😢 But it melted away like snow while looking at this view Is it within walking distance from Sapa? The taxi fare that the hotel office told me was 1.5 million dong one way, but when I actually got there, I could have walked... . (It was Labor Day, so there were a lot of local tourists, so it was actually difficult to get there by taxi.. I got off in the middle and decided to just walk!!) There are a lot of local costume rental shops lined up from the entrance. How about renting one and making good memories? There are shops that braid your hair nicely and do your makeup. On the way from Hanoi to Sapa, all the cars I had booked were canceled because it was Labor Day. On the way, I had no choice, so I chose the Sao Viet vehicle that had a 3.1 million VND time slot and set off. (The vehicle I originally reserved also picked me up at the airport, but none of the remaining Sao Viet vehicles picked me up at the airport, so I had to go all the way to the city.) I arrived exhausted from the loud phone calls, honking horns, and talking loudly… On the way back, I took the Sapa Express that I had reserved, and it was so quiet and the horn didn’t honk, which was nice. #VietnamTravel #SapaTravel

As I stepped foot in the enchanting town of Sapa during the tail end of winter season, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape that surrounded me. The rice terraces were blanketed in thick fog, making the area look mystical. Eager to explore this landscape, my friends and I decided to hire a hiking guide to navigate the trails. Our guide was a local Hmong lady with an infectious passion for the mountains. With her guidance, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure through the slippery rice terraces and valleys. Every step we took revealed breathtaking vistas of jagged mountains piercing through the clouds. Our guide shared stories of her childhood and job, offering glimpses into the rich cultural heritage of the ethnic minority tribes inhabiting the region. She also had lunch with us, at a restaurant in her village. The food was simple, but delicious. Hiking in Sapa during winter was a true test of endurance, but the rewards were immeasurable. #favouriteitinerary We came across this pair when looking for places to go in Sapa. The Glass Bridge was disappointing due to the misty weather. But the tight rope to no-where does seem to make it even more scary! Nonetheless, what we could glimpse from the fog made us want to revisit in the future. The silver waterfall itself was a sight! We enjoyed the view more at the entrance therefore the tickets were not really necessary. Cat Cat means waterfall in French, so this is a small village with multiple waterfalls. The old street is not far from Cat Cat and can be reached on foot. However, you need to descend a flight of stairs to enter. There aren't many tourists in the village, although there is an entrance fee. It feels a bit commercialized, but the weather is nice and it's a pleasant walk.

Stay at Flaco hostel sapa for our budget 🤭.. i’m not regret to stayed here. We are just walk around to fansipan train.. very nice hotel and owner so good to entertain us. When arrived at fansipan ohh so many people there, i though arhh wrong timing for us 😂.. For ticket you can but at klook and you can get cheaper from walk in.. Fansipan is amazing place. A cloud very nice when we are coming and also like welcoming us to come a higher place 😊.. Many picture we are took as a memory.. and i don’t know when i will come a back ☺️

Cat Cat Village is located in Sapa, northern Vietnam. Sapa itself is a very popular tourist town located in the mountains, and is 319km away from Hanoi, requiring a 5-6h drive. Cat Cat Village is 2.5km from the town center, and is home to the H’mong ethnic minority. As the village is surrounded by rice terraces, gardens, mountains, valleys and waterfalls, it is a great place to begin your treks. Entry to the village is VND 150,000/pax, and it is open from 0600 - 2100h daily. Do ask for a map when purchasing the ticket as it will be helpful for navigating the village. Trekking through the village requires a certain level of fitness, as it involves going up and down many steps, which may be slippery in wet weather. Activities in the village include viewing fantastic scenery including waterfalls and rice terraces, shopping for souvenirs, trying local delicacies and interacting with the local H’mong villagers. We were there in summer (July) and the weather was cool and comfortable. We spent half a day trekking through the village, stopping for a nice lunch by the waterfalls. Despite being somewhat commercialised, Cat Cat retains some local cultural flavour. Cat Cat Village in Sapa was magnificient. Famous for its authentic crafts & souvenirs, but what took my breath away is the nature view! I mean look at that! Well, it also literally took my breath because you gotta hike up and down, a lot! Haha! Luckily the weather was cool so you don't feel lethargic, but still pheww! But to me, I enjoyed it a lot, especially nature is my kinda vibes. So, it was all worth it! ♡
