No.6 of Best Things to Do in Berne
Bern Cathedral, built in 1421, is a Christian church with three narrow passages and a model of late Gothic architecture in Switzerland. Its tower is 100 meters high, which is the tallest building in Switzerland, and you can enjoy the medieval street view of Bern from the tower. The main attraction of the church is the magnificent relief created by Erhart Küng on the front of the church. In addition, the stained glass skylights and the beautifully carved choir seats in the church are all worth seeing. There is also a pipe organ composed of 5404 brass pipes built in 1726. It is the largest pipe organ in Switzerland and can be heard during regular concerts or Christmas. From the top of the tower, you can reach the top of the tower through 344 steps spiraling up from the church door, overlooking and overlooking the snow-capped Bernese Oberland peaks in the distance.

This is the tallest cathedral in Switzerland. Amazing view over the whole old town of bern. The building is very beautiful and has amazing stained glass windows. There is a fee to climb the stairs to view Bern and the surrounding region from the top of the building, and I have been told it is worth it.

Day and Night in Bern
🇨🇭The capital of Switzerland seems to be really not going out, until this time, I knew about the city of Bern~
🎄The old town has many churches and ancient buildings. It is said that the entire old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking on the stone road and listening to the clock tower, it is very peaceful🪽
⛄️The famous viewing area is called the Rose Garden. In fact, in winter, it is a flat land on a hillside, and it is very good to overlook the entire main city...
😳The whole city is really not too big, strolling around (I even walked around the river for a few kilometers, oh yes, there is a bear park here, but I didn’t go, there are many museums, it is suitable to calm down and live for a few days to visit slowly.

One-day trip to the capital Bern
June 30th marks the thirteenth day of my trip to Europe, having finished visiting the Jungfrau, I took a train to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Today is Sunday, and many shops are closed for rest.
The name Bern comes from the German word for 'bear,' which is also the symbol of the city. There is a place by the river where several brown bears are kept. Bern is not only the political center but also a city full of historical charm and modern vitality. The Old Town of Bern is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the iconic Zytglogge clock tower and fountains from the Renaissance period. The Aare River meanders through the city, with its rapid waters surrounding the Old Town of Bern on three sides, forming a peninsula that is an ideal place for leisurely walks and enjoying the scenery.
The medieval cobblestone streets are bright, with connected arcades lining both sides, and ancient houses with red tiles and white walls complement each other, each with its own story-telling street heart column fountains. Its arcades, like our rider corridors, are especially suitable for shopping in summer and rainy days. The 16th-century clock tower and the Gothic cathedral, which began construction in 1421, give the Old Town of Bern an antique and medieval mystique.

I came to Bern just to see the cute and cute bear. There are only two or three bears in the bear garden. They are probably surrounded by guests every day. The bears are not afraid of animals and are quite lively.

The rose garden is located near the bear garden. When we went there, we didn't see roses but only wisteria. From a high point in the park, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of Bern.

Bern, the elegant and low-key capital of Switzerland
#Sign up for a cruise test
The 9th city on my self-guided tour of Switzerland with my son - Bern
In fact, I always thought that the capital of Switzerland was Zurich😅
Later I realized that I had a big misunderstanding. Bern is the capital of Switzerland. Walking on the streets of Bern, I really feel that Bern has a steady and low-key atmosphere.
After visiting Einstein's former residence, we took a bus to the Rose Garden to see the entire city of Bern and the moat. I felt dehydrated after walking around with my kid in the summer sun for 3 hours. After having lunch and taking a short rest, we visited several fountains and Bern Cathedral and then hurriedly took the train back to the B&B.
There are really many unpredictable factors when traveling with children!
You must realize that plans cannot keep up with changes. After all, children have limited physical strength.
