Historic buildings

The Cathedral of Macau, also known as the "Lobby", is part of the historic center of Macau. It was once a must-visit place for successive Macau Governors to take office, symbolizing divine power. Over the past 400 years, it has been repaired and rebuilt many times through wind and rain. Today, the magnificent building was built in 1937 and has a history of nearly a hundred years. This is a three-column building with a gray exterior. The building is rich in Spanish religious colors. The exterior is calm, grand and elegant, and the interior is exquisitely decorated. There were many Catholic relics and monuments. The church can be divided into two parts, the center is the main body of the church, and you can feel the solemn and holy atmosphere when you enter it. At the entrance is a wooden Portuguese screen, and the plain walls are simply decorated. There are tall windows on the walls on both sides, and the windows are inlaid with stained glass rich in religious art. If it's a Sunday, you can go in and listen to Mass for a while. There is a small square in front of the church. The ground is covered with black and white Portuguese-style gravel. There is a characteristic small fountain in the square, which makes it an elegant and peaceful scenic spot. Another part of the church is the bell tower on the side. The big bell was made in England to commemorate the enthronement of King Peter V of Portugal. Nowadays, there are important masses, grand ceremonies, feasts, and weddings in Macau, and the bell will ring in the clock tower to remind the local people.
