🚗💶 Explore Vilnius with Ride-Sharing: Smart, Easy & Budget-Friendly! 🇱🇹✨
#ridesharingtravel
Vilnius is charming, compact — and surprisingly affordable to explore when you skip the rental car and opt for ride-sharing. Whether you’re just landing at the airport or hopping between hidden gems, using services like Bolt (Lithuania’s go-to app) is the perfect way to ride in style without breaking the bank.
✈️ From the Airport to the City Center
🚖 Bolt from Vilnius Airport (VNO) to Old Town
💰 Approx. €5–€8
⏱️ 15–20 min
No dragging luggage on buses or figuring out tickets — just hop in and go straight to your hostel, hotel, or café!
🤑 TIP: Ride-sharing is often cheaper than a taxi and only slightly more than a public bus — worth it for convenience after a flight!
🏰 Getting to Top Attractions
📍 To Gediminas Castle Hill or Cathedral Square
Use ride-sharing if you’re short on time or the weather’s tricky — it’s cheap for small groups and drops you right at the base of the hill.
🎨 To MO Museum or Užupis
Both walkable from the city center, but a Bolt ride saves time if you’re hopping between neighborhoods or starting your day in a different district.
🌳 To Belmontas Park or Pavilniai Regional Park
💡 These green escapes are a bit outside the center — ride-sharing gets you there in under 15 minutes without navigating public transit.
💡 Why Ride-Sharing Works in Vilnius
🟢 Super affordable – Most in-town rides cost €3–€6, great for short hops.
📱 Apps like Bolt or Uber are reliable, with English-language support.
👯♂️ Great for groups – Split the fare and it’s often cheaper than the bus.
🕐 Time-saving – Get to places faster, especially on tight itineraries.
🌙 Safe at night – No need to wait alone at a bus stop after dark.
🧠 Money-Saving Hacks
💸 Use Bolt promo codes for first-time riders
📲 Book rides during off-peak hours to avoid surge pricing
📍 Combine walking + ride-sharing — walk during the day, ride at night or between distant spots
🧳 Use Bolt XL for airport groups – Split among 3-4 people, it’s cheaper than a shuttle!

🇱🇹 One Day in Vilnius: The Perfect Itinerary
🏨 Where We Stayed: Ibis Vilnius Centre
Just a quick 10-minute walk from Gediminas’ Tower, this hotel had everything we needed — modern, comfy rooms, free Wi-Fi, and even a restaurant on-site. It was the perfect spot to base ourselves while exploring the city.
🗺️ How to Spend the Day
• Morning: Start off your day with a visit to Gediminas’ Tower, where you can soak in amazing panoramic views of Vilnius. Then take a leisurely stroll down Pilies Street, the city’s oldest street, all the way to Vilnius Cathedral and Cathedral Square.
• Afternoon: Head over to Užupis, the artsy district famous for its bohemian vibe and colorful street art. Then make your way up to Three Crosses Hill for another stunning viewpoint.
If you have extra time, be sure to visit Vilnius Town Hall and explore the lively market nearby. From there, stroll to the Church of St. Casimir, located right next to the Town Hall. Continue on to the beautiful Bernardine Garden, and then visit the stunning Church of St. Anne—a true architectural gem of Vilnius.
If you visit the Town Hall Market, please stop by the stall of the man in the pictures — he was quite kind and even gave us free souvenirs.
• Evening: Wind down with a peaceful walk along the Vilnia River, enjoying the historic charm around you. Finish your day with a hearty dinner at a traditional Lithuanian restaurant.
📸 Top Photo Spots You Can’t Miss
• Gediminas’ Tower: Incredible views over the city’s rooftops.
• Three Crosses Hill: Gorgeous panorama, especially beautiful at sunset.
• Bernardine Garden: A lovely, peaceful park with flowers, fountains, and historic buildings — perfect for photos.
• Užupis Constitution Wall: This wall shows the constitution of the “Republic of Užupis” in multiple languages — a must-see!
• Church of St. Anne: A beautiful Gothic church with a striking red-brick façade that’s remained almost unchanged since the 1500s.
• Church of St. Casimir: The city’s oldest Baroque church, known for its distinctive crown-shaped dome and charming pink exterior.
• Church of St. Catherine: Another stunning Baroque church, famous for its rich decoration and twin towers — definitely worth a photo stop.
🚍 Getting Around
Vilnius has a solid public transport system with buses and trolleybuses, and a single ticket costs just €1. Uber is also widely available and very affordable.
🍽️ Where to Eat
We had dinner at Etno Dvaras — a gorgeous restaurant serving authentic, traditional Lithuanian dishes. Highly recommend if you want to taste real local flavours, plus the waiters were super helpful and friendly, which made the evening even better.
