Central Market has a long history in Hong Kong since it’s first version opened for business in 1842. It used to be a wet market where locals buy fresh ingredients for their own meals or businesses. Now, however, after the revitalization project in 2021, there seems to be no trace of raw vegetables or meats had ever been put at any corner of the building. Once you enter Central Market, it felt more like a shopping mall with lots of local young entrepreneurs set up booths to promote their products, and with more unique brands of food and drinks that I don’t see in any other places. The price is a bit on the higher side which I believe because they target young people who prefer quality and good vibes. The old structure is still being kept at the market, with the grand stair cases and old Chinese signs on the wall. The market is clean, fully air conditioned, neat and modern. It is definitely a pleasant experience to go to this market. #market
