#wheretogo I recently had the privilege to go on food tour in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital and second largest city. Our hotel concierge recommended us to dine here at Cha Ca Thang Long for Cha Ca as it was one of the best in Hanoi. Cha Ca is basically catfished grilled and fried at the table in front of you on a pan with spring onions and dills. It makes for an AMAZING experience! The is only 1 item on the menu and you can go wrong! You’ll have to pair the fish with their homemade fish, peanuts, and a plethora of veggies and sauces. It’s really good! The exterior of the restaurant is grand and yellow with a long walkway which leads you to the restaurant. I can at 6pm and spent an hour here, leaving when it was dark. Come try it for yourself! I had the pleasure of dining at Cha Ca Thang Long in Hanoi, and it was an exceptional experience. There is only 1 item in the menu, the restaurant specializes in the iconic Vietnamese dish, cha ca—grilled turmeric-marinated fish served with dill and spring onions, cooked right at your table. Everything was served almost immediately. The fish was tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the fresh herbs and aromatic spices. The interactive dining style, where you stir-fry the fish with greens at the table, added a fun and engaging touch to the meal. Pairing the fish with vermicelli noodles, peanuts, and a tangy dipping sauce created a well-balanced and delicious combination. Don’t be surprise by the portion of fish to be slightly little, when we were almost done with our food, we were very full! The set comes with deep fried rice roll too. The service was attentive, with staff eager to assist in ensuring the dish was prepared just right. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, offering an authentic Hanoi dining experience. This restaurant serve the best mudfish that I have ever tried and there is even a staff to help you out with the cooking if you are unsure how. The interior design is outstanding with an alley walkway to go into the restaurant. From the menu, there only sell mudfish or mudfish combo set with spring rolls. The spring rolls are delicious too. The star of the show is the fried fish with tumeric, i believe it's either cat fish since it's a popular delicacy here in Vietnam. The atmosphere also has an old authentic feeling which add to the experience when dining. Do come earlier as this place is really popular among tourists and locals.
