Let me take you there… Cù Lao Chàm (pronounced something like “Koo Lao Cham”) is a small cluster of islands about 30 minutes by speedboat from the charming town of Hội An. Most tourists never even hear about it. It’s not on the main backpacker circuit, and there aren’t any 5-star beach resorts or glossy tour packages. Which, if you ask me, is exactly why it’s worth visiting. When I stepped off the boat at the main island, Hòn Lao, the first thing I noticed was the quiet. No cars. No honking. Just ocean breeze, palm trees, and the occasional putter of a motorbike. It felt like I had time-traveled to a slower, simpler Vietnam. Later, I joined a snorkeling trip around the island. The coral reefs were surprisingly healthy (thanks to the island’s UNESCO biosphere status), and the water was so clear I could see schools of neon fish darting through the coral just beneath the surface. #beachaholic We were having snorkeling and Sea walking activities near the offshore of Cham Island, and were brought to the another corner of the Island for lunch and relaxation. Very calm, quince and cozy, we were served with the traditional Vietnamese lunch after a whole morning of water activities, and were given 2 hours to relax by the beach. It was so relaxing and nice to just lie down on the deck chair while having the sun bathing session, with some fruits brought from the shores of Da Nang. This place is very less known by tourists and not accessible unless we took a Cham Island tour or brought here by motorboat or ferry.

How to get there 🛥 - Take a boat at Cảng Du Loch Cửa Đại Pier to travel to Cham Island. Tourist attractions 🏝 - Cham Island is a marine nature reserve in Vietnam, which is also a natural world heritage site. Plastic bags are not allowed on the island. 🚫🛍 Hotels 🏩 - There are no hotels here, only small homestays owned by locals. Restaurants and food - Most of the seafood here is sold on the beach by weight, and there is a service to cook it for you.
