I spent 5 days in Chengdu and visited most of the popular attractions. It was a great trip! Here is my itinerary and experience for your reference. Day 1: I went to Chunxi Road first. The panda statue at IFS is very popular. It lights up at 6 pm and looks amazing, perfect for photos. Then I went to Xiang Feipo Restaurant. The spicy stir-fried chicken with clams was delicious, and the squid tentacles and sausage were also good. I finished all the rice. After eating, I went to Taikoo Li. The naked-eye 3D screen and LV Christmas tree were great for photos. Day 2: I went to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Remember to buy a headband outside the base, as there are fewer styles inside. The base is large, and the baby pandas are adorable. If you want to see the delivery room, I recommend taking the sightseeing bus, as walking is tiring. At noon, I went to Houtang Hot Pot. It was very spicy, so hot pot lovers shouldn't miss it. In the evening, I went to Lishan Tea House. The environment was nice and relaxing. Day 3: I went to the Sanxingdui Museum. The museum is large, and it takes about 2 to 3 hours to visit. There is a coffee shop in the museum, which is a nice place to rest and enjoy some coffee and snacks. In the evening, I went to Jinli. It looks better at night when the lights are on, and it's a great place for photos. Day 4: I went to Yangtianwo Square. The giant panda sculpture is impressive. Then I went to Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng. I recommend joining a tour group, as climbing the mountain is tiring. If you don't want to get tired, you can just visit the foot of Mount Qingcheng. Day 5: On the last day, I went to Wenshu Monastery. The mushroom rice at Xiangyuan was good, and there is a vegetarian buffet. You can only order at 11:30 am. Then I went to Gongting Pastry Shop. Where could Huahua be hiding? We followed the crowd into the park, searching for Huahua amidst the throngs of people. But with so many visitors, where could Huahua be? After patiently waiting, we finally saw Huahua appear, leisurely munching on bamboo leaves. It was a moment of pure joy. Besides Huahua, we also visited the adorable red pandas! Today was a day healed by pandas! They are just too cute! Before coming to the base, I read a lot of travel guides, fearing that I wouldn't understand how to navigate the place, but thankfully the preparation paid off! There was almost no queuing throughout the whole journey, and I saw over 20 giant pandas! I was also lucky enough to see Grandpa Tan, Hua Hua, and Ye from a distance without queuing—no more talking, let's get straight to the good stuff! Route: I did a lot of research on travel guides, and in the end, I chose to enter from the west gate because we didn't plan to rush to see Hua Hua; those who do should enter from the south gate. We arrived at the west gate at 7:00, and the park opens at 7:30. After entering the west gate, we didn't stay in the west area but took the sightseeing bus directly to Villa No. 1. We were the first ones there, and the experience was fantastic. Upon entering, we saw Hot Dry Noodles and Egg Sponge Cake, which were incredibly cute! They were eating bamboo~ (I suggest everyone arrive early, as the pandas are more lively in the morning and are eating. Although the weather was super hot and the pandas were indoor - I’m so thankful that they were all indoors because it was super hot and going inside with air con felt amazing. In Chengdu?, you MUST see the pandas 🐼 Very glad we visited the Panda Research Base in Chengdu, even though it was a hot day we still got a chance to see the pandas in their inside enclosures. 📍​20 minutes drive north from city center by taxi 45RMB. Hotels also help you arrange tours. 🎟​The entrance fee is 55RMB, you MUST book at least 24 hours in advance (see code in pictures), specially for the morning session. ⌚️​Do arrive before 10am taking into consideration lining up to enter which can take half an hour➕. we got it at 9:50 and literally 10 minutes later the pandas were fast asleep. ​The base is big,🚶 easily a 2 hour walk if you see the nursery👶 and visit all the information points, therr is also a little car that can take you to the different POI no extra fee. The base is great for children, lots of information and although we didn't take part in he volunteer program the facilities for it looked amazing. 📸 There are plenty of photo opportunities in and around the park with,.don't miss them, Panda ice creams and even the names of the roafs around the base are worth a picture.
