#DomesticTravelStrategy I visit Kochi Prefecture every year because my grandparents live there. Here's my recommended 1-day plan! 9:00~ 📍 Mt. Godai A leisurely visit to Mt. Godai. Mt. Godai offers a panoramic view of Kochi city. Chikurinji Temple, located on the mountain, is one of the temples visited on the pilgrimage to the 88 temples of Shikoku. You can enjoy the wonderful air in the bamboo grove. The one-word Jizo here is the Jizo that makes my wishes come true the most! There is also an observation deck and a botanical garden nearby, so you can stay for a long time. 12:00~ 📍 Lunch at Manshu Tsutaya Kochi specialty Janmen, which has not yet arrived in Tokyo. If it was served in Tokyo, it would definitely become a hit. It's so delicious. This is a restaurant that has branched off from the original. The soup is a thickened bean paste, and it is full of motsu, eggs, and chives. The noodles are curly and the flavor is well-mixed. It's a dish that you definitely should try because it's sure to be delicious. By the way, it has already landed in Osaka and Kyoto, so please check it out! 14:00-📍Katsurahama Aquarium and Beach Even though it's such a small aquarium, it's rare to find one that's this fun. There are so many creatures to interact with. They let you experience feeding sea turtles🤣 as well as goldfish and sea lions. It's perfect for people who want to play with animals up close. The way the exhibits are displayed is interesting, and there are many things to comment on, so you can't stop laughing🤣 In front of you is Katsurahama Beach, and in the summer, people are swimming in the sea. The pine trees add a nice touch to the view of the Pacific Ocean in Japan. There is also a bronze statue of Sakamoto Ryoma looking out at the Pacific Ocean. 18:00-📍Dinner at Myojinmaru When it comes to seared bonito, Myojinmaru is the place to go. If you come to Kochi, you can't leave without eating it. There are several stores, including the main store, inside Hirome Market, and in the annex. The photo is of the Obiyacho store. My Yu Bus is a sightseeing spot that you can go to by taking the Saden sightseeing bus. 📍 🚍My Yu Bus main stops🚍 JR Kochi Station-Harimayabashi-Mt. Godai Observatory-Chikurinji-Mae-Katsurahama There is also a bus stop called Chikurinji-Mae, but it runs once an hour, so you can get off at the higher-placed Godai Observatory and go down from there to easily access the back of Chikurinji. ✨ This temple is also the 31st temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. There was also a pilgrim there. The main hall is the Monju-do Hall, which enshrines Manjusri Bodhisattva. It is also designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The principal image here is said to be one of the three great Manjusri in Japan 🤔 (the other two are Kirido Manjusri in Kyoto and Abe Manjusri in Nara). There is also a 31m tall five-story pagoda made entirely of cypress, a single word Jizo and a lucky maneki-neko 😊 Also, within the temple grounds, there is the quietly standing Hiyoshi Shrine ⛩, pay attention to the lion dogs enshrined in front of the torii gate 👀 At first glance, they look like the usual lion dogs, but both the left and right are parent and child lion dogs with children 🐶 What's more, the child on the left is lying on his back, as if he's playing and giggling ☺️ It's sure to warm your heart! I just dropped by, but it was a very nice place, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone heading to Mt. Highlights: Chikurinji Temple has become an important stop on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Chikurinji's temple grounds feature an interesting array of halls and structures, including a beautiful five-storied pagoda.
