[Trip to Malaysia] Mangoes for 300 yen per kilo!? A trip to a local market for super cheap fruit!
If you go to Kuala Lumpur, you should definitely stop by! Introducing a local market that is a heaven for super cheap fruit!
⭐️Review
A wonderful market where you can get delicious tropical fruits at a low price. The staff are all kind and you can get a lot of fruit samples.
I bought bananas for RM5 per kg, lychees and mangoes for RM10 per kg each. The bill is clear and they even give you freebies, so you can feel the warmth of Malaysians. It's no wonder the cats feel at home here. There is no place in Japan where you can buy raw mangoes and lychees for 300 yen per kg, so buy them here and eat them to your heart's content at the hotel! Unfortunately, you can't take them back to Japan...
When I visited after 12 o'clock, most of the meat and fish shops were closed. If you're looking for meat or fish, it might be better to come in the morning!
If you like fruit, you'll definitely enjoy it, so be sure to stop by when you come on a trip🫶

Chow Kit Market, a popular market among locals in Kuala Lumpur
Guide to Chow Kit Market in Kuala Lumpur - Chow Kit Market is one of the largest traditional markets in Kuala Lumpur and one of the markets with the most locals. It is full of local cultural atmosphere. In Chow Kit Market, you can eat more snacks and fresh fruits, but there is a disadvantage: the surrounding environment is a bit poor, and it is a bit smelly when walking from the subway station to the market 😂
It is very close to the Petronas Twin Towers, and you can reach it by walking. So I was able to take photos with a big contrast. I think it’s great to feel this kind of down-to-earth atmosphere in Kuala Lumpur, a seemingly prosperous city.
🗺️ Address:🗺️Jalan Chow Kit, 50350 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
⏰ Opening hours:⏰ Every day 9:00-17:00
🚇 Transportation: Subway: The nearest subway station is Chow Kit Station, which is a few minutes walk to the market.
Public Transport: There are several bus routes available. [Details can be found on Google maps🗺️]🚇
📸 Travel experience:
Best time to visit: I personally think it is at night. The weather in Kuala Lumpur is very hot during the day and it will be cooler at night. Moreover, this market is almost open 24 hours a day, and snacks are basically open until 1-2 am, so night is undoubtedly the best time to visit.
🥬🥒🌶️🫑What's here? Chow Kit Market is famous for its fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, spices and snack stalls. The stalls in the market are closely arranged, full of the strong local life atmosphere, but these are basically bought by locals.
🔔 Notes:
Be careful with your belongings:💰The market is crowded and messy, so it is recommended to take good care of your belongings. There is a wholesale market nearby, and there are night markets and other things, but the things sold are basically of poor quality, and there are many people from all over the place. Although it is generally safe, you still have to be more careful...😂
