Visit Jinguashi Faith Center ~ Quanji Hall
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
Quanji Hall is the main religious center in Jinguashi area. The statue enshrined in the temple is the only golden-faced Guan Gong in Taiwan before the restoration of Taiwan. The bronze statue of Guan Gong on the top of the temple is reading a book of the Spring and Autumn Annals, towering above the Quanji Hall and is also the landmark of Jinguashi.
Guandijun is the patron saint of the Jinguashi area; there are three must-see treasures in Quanji Hall. This trip is about learning culture, not mountain climbing; we need to learn with an open mind.
The first item is the largest pure copper Guan Gong statue in Taiwan (5 feet high), with a height of 35 feet and a weight of 25 tons, holding a book of Spring and Autumn in his left hand.
The second item is a pair of national treasure-level large stone pillars with flower, bird and human figures, which are three-dimensionally carved.
The third item is the Golden-faced Guandijun. This statue was brought from Tangshan in the early Republic of China and is rare in Taiwan.
Jinguashi is one of the three largest gold mines in Taiwan. It produces not only gold but also copper. A settlement was formed because of the mining industry. After the decline of the mining industry, it turned to tourism development. The abandoned brick factory building is above the Yin Yang Sea. Standing or sitting on the mottled red brick wall is a very popular shooting location for internet celebrities.
