A new emotional accommodation located near Daejeon 🫶 Are you struggling to choose between a room with a swimming pool or a room with a jacuzzi when you go to a pool villa? Buso Damak, located in Chusori, Gunbuk-myeon, Okcheon-gun, has a beautiful scenery as part of the mountain was submerged in water due to the construction of Daecheong Dam. If you go up to the pavilion of Chusojeong, where you can see the spectacular view of Busodamak, you can only see the village across the street, the privately owned Mir Garden, and the long stretch of Busodamak, so it is hard to see.

#cherryblossom25 Best Place to visit with your family. There is a beautiful coffee shop inside. There is a smallest church in the world also with beautiful scenery around. It is also a fantastic place for nature lover. Lake view is outstanding. There is cafeteria from where you can take coffee and snacks and sit infront of the lake. Also, there is nursery from where you can buy plants. there are a small church and two beautiful castle looks alike houses.

#cherryblossom25 A great place to feel and experience the scent of Okcheon's history and culture, located in front of the birthplace of Mrs. Yuk Young-soo of Okcheon. It is also considered to be a good place for education for children and foreigners experiencing Korea for the first time. The buildings were large and well-organized, unbecoming of a small provincial town. It is a well-maintained parking spaces nearby, so I had no trouble parking at all.

#cherryblossom25 Jangyeongsan Mountain in Okcheon is a temple of Silla during the Three Kingdoms period. The road up to the temple was good, but the temple was surprisingly grand yet simple, and the rock-carved Buddha statue left a deep impression. If you go up the mountain behind the temple, you can see Okcheon. You can see it at a glance and it will heal properly. The Parking here is also easy to access. You can get to the observatory in about 20 minutes.

#cherryblossom25 Geumgang Recreation Area, located at 596 Geumgang-ro, Dong-myeon, Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, between Okcheon and Yeongdong IC on the Gyeongbu Expressway, which opened in 1970, is famous as a rest area on the Gyeongbu Expressway. The dam, created by blocking rugged mountains and valleys, has beautiful scenery and clean air, making it a place where vacationers and tourists gather. The scenery is so good. I arrived at sunrise and the evaporation process of the sorrounding water made my day.

#aprilblooms Our recent visit to Jangnyeongsan Natural Recreation Forest (장령산자연휴양림), situated at 519 Jangnyeongsan-ro, Gunseo-myeon, Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, provided a serene escape into nature's embrace. Arriving in June, we were immediately captivated by the lush green mountains and the expansive blue sky, accented by what seemed to be a variety of wildflowers in bloom. The recreation forest offers a refreshing experience with its clean 계곡 (stream), where the clear, shallow waters looked inviting for a relaxing soak. Stepping stones provided a charming way to traverse the stream and explore the surroundings. Red parasols were visible, possibly available for rent for those enjoying an extended stay. The area features a pleasant 분수 (fountain), adding a soothing ambiance to the natural landscape. For those seeking a bit of adventure, a 짚라인 (zip line) appeared to be among the available facilities. When the heat of the day called for respite, the option to enjoy a 시원한 맥주 (cold beer) while dipping feet in the cool stream offered a moment of genuine 힐링 (relaxation). A 족욕장 (foot bath), divided into separate sections, also looked like a wonderful amenity for unwinding and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere with companions. Well-maintained 데크길 (wooden walkways) meander through the verdant forest, offering tranquil paths for exploration and appreciation of the natural beauty. My recent visit, as a travel enthusiast, proved to be a refreshing escape, particularly appealing if you're looking for engaging activities near Daejeon, especially with children. Even on a brilliantly sunny day, the center provided a unique charm that stood out from typical outings like visiting popular spots or pensions. The center itself houses a delightful surprise: a restaurant specializing in mushroom dishes and traditional Korean staples like sungnyung (scorched rice soup), making meal times convenient. The experience is divided into exploring diverse global cultures and participating in hands-on food making. We opted for the latter and weren't disappointed. Upon entering, you simply change into indoor slippers and inform the staff about the activities you'd like to try. What’s fantastic is that there aren't strict time slots, allowing for a relaxed experience (excluding weekend and weekday lunch hours). We dove into making four traditional treats: ssukgaetteok (mugwort rice cake), baramtteok (wind cake), and two types of gangjeong (sweet puffed rice snacks) – oranda gangjeong. All were surprisingly delicious and easy to prepare. Beyond these, they also offer opportunities for free-form crafts, which would be perfect for those who enjoy a bit more creative freedom. 💰Average Price per Person: The pricing is also remarkably reasonable. Both the baramtteok and oranda making experiences cost ₩15,000 each. For those with a digital Okcheon tourism card, the price drops to ₩10,500, and even further discounts are available for digital Okcheon residents. #aprilblooms I ventured out to Janggye Tourist Site in Okcheon, North Chungcheong Province, looking for a nice place to visit near Daejeon. This marks my third visit to this location, and I've been dropping by occasionally since the initial construction began. It's remarkable how much progress has been made; it looks almost complete now. This site is known as one of the "Six Scenic Views of Okcheon." However, it's still under development! I heard that a suspension bridge is planned to be built by 2027. Despite the ongoing construction, it's currently a wonderful place to take a stroll and enjoy the flowers! Since there weren't many people, I drove up to the very top of the parking lot. There's a cafe here, and that's where I headed in. The greenery was absolutely stunning and so pretty! A leisurely walk around the trails takes about 30 to 40 minutes. It's definitely been improved a lot compared to how it used to be. It really feels like a newly established park. I saw many people bringing their dogs along for a walk. The small fountains and flowing water features, like little ponds, were also very well-maintained. I even spotted tadpoles in the water – so cute! My dad mentioned he was a little disappointed there were no carp though. (lol) I was surprised by how many royal azaleas were in bloom! Although some of the flowers had already started to fade by the time I arrived, I can imagine it would be absolutely beautiful if you visit during peak bloom. Even with some of the flowers past their prime, it was still lovely that day. There were just so many royal azaleas planted everywhere – it wasn't like a meticulously organized arboretum, but more like they just planted a massive amount of them! There was also a spot where people stack stones to make little towers, so of course, I snapped a photo. What makes Janggye Tourist Site in Okcheon truly special is its location along Daechung Lake. You can enjoy perfect views of the lake while you walk! The experience of strolling with the scenic backdrop of Daechung Lake is fantastic. While the development is not entirely finished, Janggye Tourist Site is already a great place to enjoy beautiful nature. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway near Daejeon to see flowers and take a walk, this is definitely a place to consider. I'm already looking forward to visiting again after the suspension bridge is completed in 2027 to witness that impressive view! #photography #naturelover

(The entrance is not very noticeable, so you may pass it by, so check your navigation carefully!) It is a large cafe with a total of 3 floors, including the 1st and 2nd floors indoors and the rooftop. There is a parking lot right in front of the building, and there is another parking lot one block down. I went up to the rooftop. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Cafe Kang-i-rang is a cafe with a view of Daecheong Lake! There were a few tables under the shade, and I recommend sitting on the rooftop when the weather is cool. Kang-i-rang, which has a ceiling height that is about twice that of an average building. No matter where you sit, you can enjoy the view of Daecheong Lake through the large windows. The unique thing about Cafe Kangirang is that they also sell ramen, meat, etc. When you enter the entrance, there is a front desk in front, and on the left side there is a refrigerator and a variety of industrial products for sale, so you can enjoy it as if you were camping. If you visit with children, it would be fun because of this.

Since most guests visiting the pension eat dinner at the accommodation, the owner was surprised when he saw our small luggage and asked if that was all we had. Yes... I don't want to live here...!😭 One car can be parked per room. If there is more than one, you can park outside the accommodation, so there is no inconvenience, and if there is space in the parking lot, you can park one more car in the parking lot. Stone Room, which is about 23 pyeong, consists of a bedroom, bathroom, and living room. The standard number of people is four, and additional people are not allowed. There were three of us, but it was spacious enough for four people. Amenities TV, bed, dining table, air conditioner, refrigerator, hair dryer, cooking utensils, electric rice cooker, microwave, hot plate, shower room, internet, bidet, bathroom supplies, carbon monoxide alarm, fire alarm, fan, fire extinguisher, toilet, shower room, and washbasin are divided into sections. The Stone Room is on the first floor, so there was no other special issue except that the water was loud when using the water on the second floor. The water pressure was good, and warm water came out well. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided in reusable containers. There are accommodations that sometimes smell like water, but Stone & Lake was cleanly managed. First of all, after searching through the maps around Daecheong Lake, I found that it was the prettiest and most stylish pension by my standards, and the price was reasonable for that. Even for accommodations for 4 people, other pensions sometimes charge an additional fee for 2 or more people, but Stone and Lake is not like that, so I didn't feel bad about the additional fee. Prices are divided into off-season, semi-peak season, and peak season, so you can make a reservation at the regular price, so you can refer to the website for detailed prices.

We arrived a little after 6 o'clock, but it was full! If there are this many cars in the parking lot, you should think about waiting. We ordered trout sashimi for 3 people according to the number of people. Side dishes that are set as standard. Kimchi pancake that made us, who are picky eaters, happy! You can refill the basic side dishes yourself at the self-service section near the entrance. (Only eat as much as you can 😉) Trout sashimi served! A personal bowl filled with vegetables, soy sauce, sesame oil, and soybean powder, mixed well, and a piece of trout sashimi on top is delicious! I recently went on a trip to Okcheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, and I visited a large cafe overlooking the mysterious frozen Gyodong Reservoir! Not only was the reservoir beautiful, but there were also paintings that felt like a gallery! It is a hidden photo spot that is perfect for posting on SNS. It seems even more special because you can only see the snow-covered Geumgang in winter.

It's a 1-2 story building so there are a lot of seats, but the view of Daecheong Lake from the outdoor terrace seats is especially great. The interior is bright and cozy, so it's really cool. The menu has a variety of coffee, tea, and ades, so stop by when you travel to Okcheon~
