Awesome historic relic sights BUT crazy crowd
#heritageplace
One of my bucket list ❤️
Finally checked off the Terracotta Warriors in the city of Xi-an and boy was it an experience! In more ways than one 🤣
The good: The warriors were themselves are split into 3 visitor pits where visitor walkways are built above and around the actual excavation pits which was amazing. The life size warriors are really awesome relics and you can clearly see the levels of intricate detailing that went into them given the lack to fancy technology during the Qin dynasty. The fascinating history behind this world famous sight is similarly captivating even for a non history buff like me. Expect plenty of walking around to get there, actually walking around the pits, and on your way out as a tourist street path is built into the exit path to grab some tourist moolah 💰
The bad: THE CROWD. OH GOD. Expect plenty of queuing, shoving, pushing, and brisk walking whenever you see a large tourist group coming up behind you. It’s.. a terrible sidetrack to the sights but also not some something you can run away from so come with a high level of patience and tenacity please 🔥
Finally, please buy a ticket (rmb120 per adult) before hand and bring your ID/passport to be checked at the gates. Or just pay for a private tour including pick up and drop off at your hotel for the most comfortable experience for usd175 like me la 🥲
