Kumamoto Day 1: From Katretei pork chop to black garlic ramen, a authentic Japanese delicacy exploration
As soon as we arrived in Kumamoto, we went straight to Katretsu-tei and ordered the legendary pork chop. The pork chop is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with an amazing taste. The most special thing is the crispy coating, which locks in the juiciness of the pork. You can feel the rich fusion of meat flavor and sauce in every bite. This is a pork chop dish that looks simple but is extremely sophisticated. After eating it, I really feel that the trip is worthwhile.
Then we went to Coffee Gallery, where the antique atmosphere made us feel as if we had traveled back in time to the Showa era. Sit on the Japanese wooden tables and chairs, enjoy a cup of hand-brewed coffee, and experience this moment of tranquility. The unique aroma of the coffee complements the atmosphere of the old building in the store. You can feel the purity of the coffee and appreciate the quiet charm of traditional Japanese architecture.
Finally we came to Kurotei Ramen, and the black garlic ramen here was indeed worthy of its reputation. The rich black garlic soup is fragrant as soon as you take a sip. The combination of pork bones and black garlic creates a strong sense of layering. The taste is heavy but not greasy. This rich flavor is the essence of Kumamoto ramen and satisfies my craving for rich taste.
The whole trip was not only an enjoyment of taste, but also a real experience of Kumamoto’s customs and culture.
