A Journey through time in Plaza de España
Placed in the heart of Sevilla, the Plaza de España is not just a destination; it's a breathtaking journey through Spanish architecture and history. This architectural marvel was designed by Aníbal González and unveiled in 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition. Its unique blend of Renaissance and Moorish styles captures the essence of Spain’s diverse heritage, making it a paradise for anyone with an eye for design.
The plaza itself is a photographer's dream. The best spots for capturing its beauty include the ornate bridges crossing the canal, where the reflections of the grand structure in the water create a perfect symmetrical image. Another must-visit is the central building with its intricate ceramic tiles, each representing different provinces of Spain, offering a colorful backdrop for vibrant photos.
Timing is key when visiting the Plaza de España. The ideal moment to experience its full glory is during the spring, particularly in April when the weather is pleasantly warm and the skies are clear. This time of year is perfect for enjoying the site without the scorching summer heat or the occasional winter rain.
One of the best parts about visiting the Plaza de España is that it's completely free to access. Visitors can explore its grandeur without worrying about entrance fees, making it a perfect inclusion in any travel itinerary.
Located within the María Luisa Park, the Plaza de España is easily accessible from any part of the city. Whether you are strolling through Sevilla's charming streets or taking a quick bus ride, reaching this iconic site is convenient and straightforward.
Visiting the Plaza de España is an unforgettable experience that offers more than just a glimpse into Spain’s architectural past. It is a place where every corner tells a story, every tile holds a memory, and every visit feels like a step back in time. #trip #localguides #Sevilla #plazadeespaña

Seville, the ‘City of the Sun’
Another name for Seville is 'City of the Sun☀️'
And the reason
I could naturally tell the moment the sun set in the sky ◡̈
Is there anything more important than the weather when traveling?
In that sense, Seville is a place where half the fun starts with the weather!!
Even though I traveled at the end of October, thanks to the Seville sun that was still there
I was able to enjoy fantastic weather throughout my trip♡

I traveled
I traveled along the southern coast of Spain from west to east last winter.
Spain is a country with abundant sunshine all year round, so it is good to travel anywhere at any time, but the southern part, which borders the Mediterranean Sea, is especially perfect for winter travel.
Today, I will introduce Seville, my first travel destination.
Seville in my palette is a mixture of orange and gold from Plaza de España.
The hot Seville sun still seems to linger in my smiling clown.

A Beautiful and Iconic Spot in Seville
#europetrip
Plaza de España is one of Seville’s most famous landmarks, and it’s definitely worth a visit. The square is huge and impressive, with a beautiful building that wraps around a big, open space.
At the center, there’s a large fountain, and the building has lots of arches and columns, all designed in a very traditional Spanish style. You’ll also see colorful tiles representing different regions of Spain along the curved benches around the plaza.
You can take a stroll around the plaza or even rent a small boat to row around the canal that runs through the middle. It’s a great spot for photos or just relaxing in the open space.
Plaza de España is usually busy with tourists, but it’s still a nice place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. It’s also located near Maria Luisa Park, so you can easily take a walk through the park afterward.
Overall, Plaza de España is a beautiful and impressive spot in Seville, perfect for sightseeing, photos, or a relaxing afternoon.

▶️I visited a pastry shop in Seville that has a long tradition of over 130 years! The grandfather makes coffee and it's really delicious :) I really like sweet things, so I was wondering which dessert to eat, but the cream-filled bread caught my eye the most :) It was perfect to eat the sweet cream-filled bread and coffee together~ I was able to recharge my sugar level after a tiring trip where I walked and moved a lot. The taste is not special, but it was nice to visit and feel the history and tradition. There are not many tables and it's a culture where you have to stand and eat, so it might be better for families with children to get it to-go!

Such a rare boutique-styled cafe in Seville amidst the Andalusian vibe
#celebrateit
On my way to the museum of fine arts, which is located on the east side of Seville old town, I passed by a very stylish, modern boutique-styled cafe run by a hotel.
The ambience is as cozy as you can see from the picture. The woody tone feels really refreshing and calming, as opposed to the energetic high-saturation kinda orange, which is the trademark of Seville.
But such a cafe setting can be enjoyed with a cup of flat white at €2.5. I could stay there the whole day. Pistachio lover might wanna check out on their pistachio cake, which I didn’t have the chance to try, because someone before me booked the whole roll of it 😐. But that alone might say a lot about the quality.
Gothic-style church with Baroque and Neoclassical architecture
Andalucia Tour ~ Seville (Region)
A 14th century Gothic church close to the castle. Its plan is divided by groups of columns and has a ribbed vaulted roof. There is a beautiful dome over the transept. It has Baroque and Neoclassical churches.
It's worth taking a guided tour of the bell tower and crypts, especially the natural mummies there, which are amazing to see in person (if you're not frightened).

Could this be the hidden paradise of Andalusia?
Andalusia Tour ~ Seville (Region)
A beautiful small town is located in the northern part of the province, surrounded by stunning scenery. The area includes the Northern Mountain Range Natural Reserve and the Central Mountain Range area, combining vast pastures and dense forests.
In addition to the rural charm, we must also mention the town's rich historical monuments.
Écija Museum of Religious Art
Andalucia Tour ~ Seville (Region)
The Virgen del Valle Chapel is dedicated to the city's patron saint.
The site where it stands has been used as a place of worship since the Visigothic period. Two capitals and an interesting sarcophagus have been preserved from that time. During the Muslim period, it was the site of the Éciha Mosque. The neo-Mudéjar church was built after the Christian conquest in 1240, when the decorative plaster arches were preserved. The main altarpiece was brought from the Concepción de los Mercedarios Monastery and dates from the 18th century and is dedicated to Our Lady of Socorro.

Ancient religious and university buildings
A good example is the beautiful historical-artistic site consisting of the University, the Ducal Pantheon and the University Church, which are located on the promontory of this Andalusian town. In the university’s dimly lit structure, the Renaissance arcaded courtyard, the Mudejar coffered ceiling of the central hall, and the frescoes in the degree and lecture rooms capture the visitor’s attention.
The Collegiate Church of Santa María in Asunción (XVI century), in the style of plate decoration, houses a fine canvas by José de Ribera, “El Españoleto” (Museum of Religious Art). The panels were made for the Duke of Ossuna when he was Governor of Naples. Another Spanish Baroque master, Juan de Mesa, was responsible for sculpting the image of Christ of Mercy in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Next to the Collegiate Church is the Ducal Pantheon, where the Duke of Osuna is buried. Its courtyards and churches are one of the most harmonious displays of the Andalusian Renaissance.

Typical white country houses in Seville town
Andalucia Tour ~ Seville (Region)
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the area, dating back to the Taltesan people. The archaeological site of Las Canteras and Holy Week in Osuna have been declared National Tourist Attractions and will help visitors understand the essence of this part of Andalucia.
Osuna, known as Turdetani Urso, stretches along the slope of a hill that serves as a watchtower over vast expanses of olive groves and cereal fields in the Seville countryside. Its long history has left a legacy of interesting monuments and works of art from the various cultures that have settled here. The "Osuna Relief" is a Turtedani work from an archaeological site in the region, preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid. The town also had a very important position during the Roman Empire, as can be seen from the "Osuna Bronze", a compilation of laws that can also be seen in the same museum.
Osuna has some evidence of architecture from the Arab period, such as the Torre del Agua and the numerous canvases on its walls. Both structures belong to the Almohad period. The city's history continued with the Reconquista of San Fernando III and its incorporation into the Order of Calatrava until it came under the government of the Duke of Osuna. It was between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries that Osuna began to enter its period of greatest wealth and splendor, which is why a large number of buildings were built during the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque.

Seville: Plaza de Espana, a 100-year-old bullring, where you can experience the unique traditional culture of Spain
📍Plaza de Espana, Seville
This bull ring was built almost 100 years ago in 1929. It has a spectacular architecture. If you go to Seville, you must visit Plaza de Espana!
When you step into this bullring, you will definitely be attracted by the large semicircular square. The building, a blend of Renaissance and Moorish styles, is covered in colorful ceramic tiles decorated with various historical and local motifs. The pool and bridge in the center of the square add a very elegant atmosphere, as if you are in a Venetian scene. The detailed carvings on the walls, the powerful arches and the soaring towers are all amazing. .
The most special experience was undoubtedly watching a wonderful bullfighting show here - not live, but in the museum of the bullring. Among them is the story of the bullfighter Manolo Gonzalez. I’ll keep it a secret for now, but his wonderful story is definitely worth reading!
If you go to Seville, spend 2 hours to learn about Spain's most unique bullfighting culture!

Sights in Seville
The alcazar palace in Seville is gorgeous and features history, beautiful architecture, gorgeous gardens (with peacocks!, mazes and rows of greenery) making it a worthwhile visit. You can spend three hours here
The plaza de España is a great spot for photos, people watching and seeing some great flamenco shows! You can row a boat on the moat or sit in a horse and cart ride also.
Triana District - Seville, Spain
This historic district of the city has a special atmosphere. It is far from the main attractions of Seville. The district consists of narrow cobbled streets, alleys. They lead to majestic and wide squares. The Triana district differs from other parts of the city in that it is a gypsy district. In the past, this area was home to flamenco singers and dancers, bullfighters, sailors and potters. The inhabitants of the Triana district created interesting authentic Andalusian ceramics.

Large park. Very large. There are two lakes for bird watching (ducks). There are restrooms and a children's swing area. You can rent pedal cars. There is a small basketball court in the south area in front of the faculty. Everything is very nice and green with the last rain. There is a fenced area for dogs on the west side.
