Cuihua Mountain is in the northern part of the Qinling Mountains, 20 km (12 miles) from downtown Xi'an. As a part of Zhongnanshan National Forest Park, Cuihua Mountain has been recommended as one of the top ten attractions in Xi'an since 1997. Getting there: Cui Hua mountain sits just 40-minutes south of Xi'an city. You can get a taxi for about 130 RMB one way, or hop on the local bus from the subway stop Wei Qu Nan. The mountain has a beautiful lake called 'Heavenly Lake' where you can walk around it and take stunning photographs. A real visual treat. There is a motorised car that can take you to the mountain spot from the entrance. The park is quite big and it's worth spending the majority of a day. If you want to ride a boat, there are different prices. As I went there with my friends, we paid 120¥ for 30minutes (it was for 4people). It means 30¥ per person. I think it was quite cheap and worthy. Also you need to give 100¥ as a deposit, which you can get back when you finish riding the boat. Extra 5minutes will cost 20¥. Cuihuashan or Cuihua Mountains is probably the best plan for adventurous and sporty travellers visiting Xi’An. It is located in remote serene surroundings. You need to arrange private transportation to get there as this Mountain is 20km away from the city’s down town. In my case I came with a tour so we were transported in buses everywhere in Xi’An, However, you can also go by public transport. The whole place looks majestic in Autumn. The red, green, yellow, and orange decorative all the mountains. You can perfectly plan to stay three or four nights of your holidays in Xi’An to enjoy this hike and visiting other landmarks and shows. This place is surrounded with so much nature and fresh air that will make you feel recharged. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes and some water, this site requires long walking around. It would take you probably between 3 to 4 hours to complete the hike at an easy pace. Cui Hua Mountain aka 翠华山 is located not far from Xi'an city and formally this area belongs to the Xi'an city but it is quite far away from the city center. Obviously it will take you to spend two and a half hour to get there by public transportation combining subway and buses. The place in fact is not very popular among tourists, so you will feel yourself there free and it could be described as touching the untamed nature which is rare chance to experience nowadays. I recommend the climbing with careful examination of all surroundings because this place gives an opportunity to get many beautiful pictures. Tianchi - After arriving at the scenic area, we took a sightseeing bus to Tianchi, which costs CNY 20 per person. The scenery around Tianchi is very beautiful. You can see beautiful scenery from different angles by walking around Tianchi. There is an archery range, a great mirror for taking photos, and a swing at the other end of Tianchi.
