Among Sanya’s several bays, Dadonghai is really a popular one, honored as the symbol of Sanya and listed in China’s 40 Best Landscapes. Dadonghai is close to the city center. It is a great family getaway to enjoy the beach, laid-back atmosphere and sea activities. It is an amazing hangout for both travelers and locals. Dadonghai Bay is equipped with lots of upscale hotels both internationally branded and local boutique ones. These hotels not only occupy a seaside location, but also offer comfortable accommodation, great meals, and sea view rooms. Attraction name: Da Dong Hai Location: Sanya city Center, Hainan island. The beach is called Da Dong Hai and is right in the heart of beautiful Sanya. The hotel options are plenty and not too expensive compared to other hotels. Nearby are lots of restaurants and shopping malls so it’s really convenient. The beach is long and beautiful and you have rocks and nice buildings around. Nearby is also a mountain you can climb called Lu Hui Tou, you can get great views from there. #sanyatrip #dadonghai

In terms of accommodation, it is recommended to stay in Dadonghai, which is not far from Sanya Station, with convenient transportation in the city and many restaurant options. If you want to try seafood, you can take a taxi to Hongsha Pier for a seafood buffet. Locals recommend it and the seafood here is very fresh and sweet! You can experience snorkeling in the Dadonghai Scenic Area. It doesn’t matter if you can’t swim very well. It costs 150 yuan to play 3 activities and also includes pick-up and drop-off. It’s a good deal! If you wear a full-face mask and fins for diving, you have to pay an additional 150 yuan. This project is led by a coach and is relatively safe. You can see corals and small fish in the sea when diving. The water is very clear and beautiful! In terms of food, Sanya has a lot of delicious food! There are many food streets in the city, such as the First Market, Qunzhong Street, Jianshe Street, and Commercial Street, where there are all kinds of local snacks. Sanya’s coconut chicken and lees vinegar are worth checking out. Coconut water is also indispensable, a special prop for taking photos and checking in. It is very cheap on the street! Was literally on the beach with amazing views. Great stay! with a view bars on the beach.

This is a nice cozy spot located in Dadonghai Tourism Area. The environment is clean and the customer service is A1. The menu consists of western dishes and there is plenty to choose from. I started nearly every morning during our stay here with a yoga session on the beach, a perfectly blissful way to start each morning on the island. There are too many wonderful food options here. A favorite place of ours is in Dadonghai, called Marco Polo. Their blue cheese pizza is my favorite!! 🍕 Pineapple burgers, coconut milk bowls, and other island treats await after a long day of enjoying the waters, soaking in the equatorial sun beams, and just allowing our bodies to rest after all of the travels we did in the ten days prior to arriving at Sanya. 🍔🍍🥥 On the evening of January 21st, we went to the top floor of our hotel, and from that spot 36 floors up, waited for the countdown for the Lunar New Year. 🎉🎊🧧The excitement was tangible as apartments from top floor to bottom in the building across from us filled with people coming out into their balconies, yelling New Year’s wishes in the minutes leading up to midnight, then counting down in unison as the clock neared midnight. 🕕 Immediately, we were surrounded with fireworks filling the skies of the city as far as we could see. Getting There - Take a 30-40 minute Didi from the airport, it's cheap and quick. The beach is very easy to find and goes along the whole strip. Attractions - the beach being the main attraction, but the strip of bars, restaurants, small shops that follow the beach are awesome, with a mixture of DJs, music and genres, this is really a lively place to party. Hotels - there are lots of hotels in the area, from international hotels like the Hilton, to small independent hotels Food & Restaurants - there's a mixture of western and Chinese food, the larger bars all have the same menu. Dadonghai is surely the most popular spot in Sanya. ⚫️ Why choose Dadonghai? 👉🏼 Lots of hotels and resorts for different budgets. I stayed at South China Hotel which was right at the beach. 👉🏼 Most hotels are walking distance to the beach. No need to take taxis all the time. 👉🏼 Lots of restaurants and malls in Dadonghai with decent prices. I’d recommend Little India for Indian food. Dolphin Bar is also very popular for western food and cocktails. As one of Sanya’s popular tourist areas, we just had to go and spend some time here - in particular at the beach! The crescent shaped bay is surrounded by rolling green hills, features warm waters, and rows upon rows of palm trees to rest under when shade was needed. Very clean and accommodating. Highlights - I looooved the Pizza🍕 and steak 🥩. the cheapest steak goes for about 128¥ with accompaniment of 2 sauces and a bit of veggies 🥦🥕 . Also, for every 100¥ you spend, you get a coupon. We got 4 so we’ll definitely make use of them. Avg. Price per Person - 130 Rating - 9/10. It was my 1st time as I was only used to Dolphins. I loved it here, awesome service with very friendly people.

Price per Person: 100-150 yuan After the coronavirus in 2020, there are much fewer cafes with Russian cuisine in Sanya than there were before. "Наша Russia" is one of those places that was able to survive throughout quarantine in 2020. The choice of dishes is quite large, but if you don't eat pork, there is not much to choose. In general, it turned out well, dumplings with potatoes and vinaigrette salad were delicious (although there were pickles missing in the vinaigrette). Spent the first week in Sanya at Harman Hotel and ventured out onto the beach 🏖 Everything was super convenient and I enjoyed the sports bar Dolphin 🐬. The entire place is a vibe! #beachlife

Location: No. 8 Haiyun Road (海韵路8号) One of the best western restaurants in Dadonghai bay. Not as crowded as Dolphin (Dolphin is just 5 min walking distance further). Burger comes with two side dishes: fresh salad (and the portion was huge) and fries. I highly recommend to order boneless chicken (78 yuan), it was super delicious. On top of that, for every 100 yuan you spend there, you can get a coupon for 20 yuan and use it next time. Average price per person around 150 yuan (with drinks). Great service! Address - Yuya Lu, near the crossroads with Haihua Lu Avg. Price per Person - non-steak 120 (meal + 2 drinks), cheapest steak is 128. Rating - We weren't too hopeful as no-one we knew who had visited Sanya had ever mentioned this restaurant, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The amazing waitress Frances, had worked in England, and not only helped us with ordering but engaged us in friendly conversation whilst the restaurant was not busy. We enjoyed chatting to her. Service was good and good arrived promptly. The burger was perfect, and huge....the side salad was less 'side' and more just lots of salad. The cheapest steak was rested very well, and lovely with the choice of 2 sauces, carrots and the extra side of cheesy mash potatoes....very cheesy and very creamy! Cheaper beers than along the street at the Dolphin Bar. Each 100 you spend, you get a voucher for 20 off next time. A definite plus....one to add to ypur list when you've had your fill of the ever busy Dolphin Bar.

“Hawaii of China” seems like an accurate way to describe this little piece of paradise. Sanya is situated in Hainan Province, Southeast China making it the perfect year-round summer holiday destination. If I’m completely honest we didn’t do much when we visited, it was our first time there and we were just glad to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city life! I will share some of the things we did do in this blog post and hopefully soon I can share more when I visit again! We stayed at a resort located in Dadonghai called Luhuitou Sanya Resort on trip.com but the real name is Anantara Sanya Resort & Spa so don’t be too surprised when you arrive thinking you might be at the wrong place! It is one of the pricier options to stay at because it is right on the beach, and it has loads of facilities to use including the best breakfast buffet ever. There are cheaper options in Sanya to stay at but during the August holiday it wasn’t too bad, and we also shared rooms which made it more affordable. We spent most of our time at the resort drinking cocktails by the pool, so the money was worth it! That is most of what we did, I don’t even feel bad for not doing everything there is, lying by the pool drinking cocktails with my friends was good enough, probably the best holiday I’ve had with a group of friends, and I wouldn’t change anything! Sanya is one of those places where you can just relax all day and not feel guilty about it. 📍Location: 大东海 Dadonghai is located about 4 kilometers south east of the downtown area. The drive from the airport was about 40 minutes. Cost: Free. What to do: There are plenty of activities you can do such as scuba diving, motorboat, sailing, ocean fishing, underwater photography and beach sports (there’s a volleyball net - as far as I know it’s free). Other activities prices vary between 400-700¥. (You can always haggle). There are also plenty of photographers so you can get some great photos. (Original price was 80¥ for about 20 photos but I haggled and paid 30¥). There’s also a mall near there and plenty of little shops. Address - Shop 5, 77 Yuya Road (next to Bank of Communications) Ambiance/Facilities - The store is easy to find .It can get very full at night so you need to get there when you are not extremely hungry .The interior is Nepalese 🇮🇳,very beautiful and has an authentic style to it .The owner and stuff are efficient and very helpful .There is seating area inside and outside ,but the outside area is not very big . Highlights - The food is very fresh and delicious 🥘🌯🍲🫔.We started the evening with some delicious samosa 🥠,you get 4 balls for ¥40 .A friend of mine had a vegetarian roll which he recommends for vegetarians🌯.Dish 3 is Lamb Masala-tender pieces of lamb with mild spices and herbs cooked in gravy(highly recommend )🥘 .Dish 4 was Lamb Biryani which was not spicy at all but tasted really good🍛.Dish 5 was Paneer Tikka Masala🥘 which was really juicy and a little spicy. Address - 金润阳光购物广场二楼 Korean bulgogi (Sanya branch).Geumyoon Sunshine Shopping Plaza is located on the second floor Ambiance/Facilities - The restaurant has the Korean feel 🇰🇷.The store manager helped us when we experienced some problems .The decorations are stylish ,the hygiene is good and there is some ice cream at the end of your meal. Highlights - The food portions were reasonable ,the food tasted good ,but the soup was too sweet for a kimchi stew 🥘The meat portions were also reasonable .The waiter can grill the meat for you,but we preferred to do it on our own .🍲🍦We had some Soju and ice cream in the end .
