Nestled in the heart of the city’s historic medicine street, this museum offers a fascinating look into the rich heritage of oriental medicine. We explored ancient remedies, marveled at a variety of medicinal herbs, and even tried crafting herbal sachets. One of the highlights was the opportunity to wear traditional Korean attire for free, adding a fun and immersive touch to the experience. The interactive exhibits and tranquil atmosphere made it an enlightening stop, offering us a glimpse into the art and science of Korean traditional healing practices.

It was a trip to Daegu, South Korea with family. We visited Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine upon arrival. This museum offered insights into traditional Korean medicine and the history of Yangnyeongsi, a famous medicine market in Daegu. ⏰ 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Closed on Mondays) 📍51-1 Namseong-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu We also visited the Gyesan Catholic Church. It is Daegu’s main shopping street, where modern meets traditional. We enjoyed walking around the local shops, cafes, and street food vendors 📍Dongseong-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu If you are looking for a good restaurant for dinner, I would recommend you to try Geumgok Samgyetang. A beautiful park offering hiking trails and an observatory with panoramic views of Daegu. We also took cable car to observatory. 💰 Free (Cable car to observatory: ₩10,000 round trip) ⏰ Park is open 24/7; Cable car operates from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM 📍574-114, Apsansunhwan-ro, Nam-gu, Daegu Last but not least, I would recommend you to check out the Seomun Market. It is one of the largest and oldest markets in Korea. Located near Daegu's Yangnyeong-gil, this red bean-themed bakery, "Modern Alley Red Bean Bread," is loved by local residents and tourists alike. Both its taste and appearance are so appealing that you'll want to try it once and for all. In addition to the classic red bean bread, the bread here also includes some uniquely shaped breads, such as the cute bear bread, which always makes people want to take pictures. My favorite is this pure red bean bread. The crust of the bread is golden and crispy, and the red bean filling is sweet and not greasy, which is very suitable for pairing with a cup of tea. They also have Korean pancakes, which are sprinkled with black sesame seeds on the outside and filled with red bean paste. One bite is really satisfying! Not only that, the environment inside the store is also quite unique, full of Korean simplicity.
