There are no fairies at Fairy Pond in Dongchuan, Kunming.
🌈Attraction Features: Located in the mountains behind the Lanniping mining area in Tangdan Town, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Fairy Pond sits at an altitude of approximately 3,700 meters and is a moraine lake in the Gongwang mountain range. Legend has it that shouting loudly or disturbing the water by the lake will cause hail to fall from the sky. The ancients believed this was the work of fairies, hence the name! The scientific explanation is that the hail in the high-altitude atmosphere is in a critical state, and sound wave disturbances cause it to fall. Fairy Pond is beautiful in all seasons: spring brings a sea of azaleas, summer offers azure blue lake water, autumn reveals vast grasslands, and winter covers the area in a snowy fairy tale.
