#Taiwan Cement DAKA Park - Xiulin Township, Hualien County
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
Today is New Year's Eve and the originally planned tourist attractions were closed due to the Spring Festival holiday. Besides, it rained heavily in Hualien early in the morning, so I had to find a place to visit temporarily. Today's schedule is to go to Hualien in the morning, Yilan at noon, and Taipei in the evening to have New Year's Eve dinner at my brother-in-law's house. Afterwards, we decided to visit the DAKA Park of Taiwan Cement. After the visit, we can go directly north to Yilan. In fact, the DAKA Park of Taice is a must-go place when going north to Yilan and Taipei, and south to Hualien and Taitung, so both tour buses and ordinary tourists will come here to rest and use the toilet. The park is actually not very big, but the most attractive thing is the peace flower made up of three solar panels. These three Peace Flower solar panels are also one of the must-photograph attractions for tourists. In addition, 7-ELEVEN, DAKA market and Starbucks are also places where you can take photos and shop. DAKA Park is also the first "open ecological cycle factory" in Taiwan, and the park also allows visitors to visit the mines and factories in the park and take guided tours of Peace Harbor by appointment. Whether you are traveling north or south and want to take a break, take a breath, shop or go to the bathroom, if you pass by the DAKA Park of Tai Cement, don't miss it and come in to take a look. 🎨🚂 From Workhorse to Wonder: The Brookville 45-Ton’s Epic Makeover
#getgoing2025 #yilan
Once upon a time, the Brookville 45-ton locomotive was a legend of labor 💪⚙️. For 24 years (1994–2018), this diesel beast pulled 1,200 tons of limestone and cement 🪨➡️🏗️, chugging along like the MVP of the cement game 🏆. Its job? Moving stone hopper cars 🛻 and cement hopper cars 🚚 to loading stations and Heping Station’s sidetracks. Powered by a roaring Cummins K-19-L engine 🏎️💨, it was all about grit and grind. But every legend deserves a grand retirement 🎉.
When its work was done, this locomotive didn’t fade away—it got a major glow-up ✨. Thanks to the creative geniuses at Heping Elementary School 👩🎨👨🎨, the attached cement hopper car turned into a masterpiece. Through the DISCOVER the Beauty of Heping art contest 🖌️🎶, local kids unleashed their imaginations, covering the car in vibrant paintings of flying squirrels 🐿️, wild boars 🐗, and cheeky monkeys 🐒. These little critters celebrated the wildlife of Heping 🌳🐾 and gave the train a second life as a rolling work of art 🚆🎨.
Now, this once-mighty hauler cruises into its retirement years as a true showstopper 💃🚂. It’s not just a train—it’s a party on wheels, complete with an explosion of colors 🌈, a nod to history 📜, and a dash of future dreams 🌟. Who knew a cement hauler could serve such main character energy? 🚀🔥

DAKA Park: Where Cement Gets a Glow-Up
#getgoing2025 #yilan
Welcome to DAKA Park, where Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC) took an old cement plant and said, “Let’s make it fabulous!” Located in Su’ao, Yilan County, this eco-industrial playground is what happens when a cement company decides to show off its artsy, green side.
“DAKA” means “arrival” in Taiwanese, and trust us, you’ll want to arrive here. The park combines education, nature, and a touch of “look how sustainable we are” flair. It’s like a museum, a science center, and a nature park had a baby – and that baby loves cement.
Explore exhibits that explain the cement-making process (surprisingly fascinating!), marvel at the butterfly garden (yes, even the butterflies are into this place), and check out the Green Energy Pavilion – where wind and solar energy steal the show. Oh, and don’t miss the augmented reality displays that make you feel like a cement-making wizard.
DAKA Park isn’t just about green spaces and techy exhibits; it’s about proving that even a cement company can get hip with sustainability. It’s the ultimate cement comeback story, inspiring us all to be a little greener – and maybe appreciate concrete a bit more.

#TravelIns
#TravelInspiration I like the beautiful mountains, waters and scenery of Hualien. I just spent New Year's Eve in Hualien. I saw the fireworks outside the hotel window. It was great. Today I am on the way to Hualien again. Now I am taking a break at Starbucks, drinking a cup of coffee and eating a piece of cake. The purpose of traveling is not to go somewhere, but to enjoy every moment. I am very happy☺️

Two days and one night along the coast of Hualien (family trip)♥️
#springsummer2024
Two days and one night itinerary: From Taipei to visit the Taiwan Cement Daka Park, there are many beautiful walls that are good for taking photos 👍🏻 and tourists can also make an appointment for a free guided tour~
We made an appointment this time and I thought the tour guide was very good!
Then go directly to the B&B (camping) Talangxingchen Camping Area
It’s also great for photo taking here! The most important thing is that you can bring your furry children with you!
