Daotuoxue in Xinchang has been the filming location for many martial arts dramas, such as "Swordsman" and "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils." The trail is surrounded by lush mountains and clear waters, and the air is fresh and pleasant, making you feel like you are in a natural oxygen bar. The canyon is deep and quiet, with strange rocks and unique landforms that make you marvel at the wonders of nature. Although the climb is challenging, the sense of accomplishment you feel when you reach the top and overlook the beautiful scenery is worth it. The fatigue of your body and mind will instantly disappear, leaving only a sense of comfort and awe for nature. Hiking Guide - Transportation: You can drive to Daotuoxue Parking Lot, which is convenient for parking. - Route: Start from the parking lot and follow the trail. The first section is a gentle mountain road, and then the slope gradually becomes steeper. Pay attention to the signs along the way and follow the main road to reach the core scenic spot, Daotuoxue. The whole journey is about 3–4 km and takes 2–3 hours. - Equipment: Wear comfortable sports shoes and bring an appropriate amount of water and energy snacks, such as chocolate and nuts. You can also prepare trekking poles to help with climbing. - Best Time: Spring and autumn are the best seasons for hiking, as the weather is pleasant and the scenery is more beautiful.

The beautiful sceneries of Xinchang in Shaoxing must be explored on foot. Together with my family, we embarked on the Hanfei River hiking route, known as the ultimate parent-child route in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area. We started from the entrance of Xiazhou Village and walked all the way to Daotuobu! The entire journey is about ten kilometers. It takes roughly 3-4 hours (it might be slower with a three-and-a-half-year-old child). The scenery along the way is filled with peculiar rocks and is quite spectacular! However, the difficulty of this parent-child hike is much greater than that of the Anshan Ancient Trail, especially the Daotuobu section, which is quite dangerous and steep. Nevertheless, the views are still very rewarding. Daotuobu attracts many people because of its shape; it looks like an upside-down boot, and also resembles Peppa Pig! It indeed has great visual appeal! This section of the path is quite steep, and it can get slippery after the rain. There's also a small waterfall along the way, which reminds me a bit of Enshi.

🌸During the May Day holiday, when everyone was flocking to popular attractions, I chose to travel in the opposite direction and explore the Hanfeijiang Ancient Trail in Xinchang, Shaoxing. Not for the crowds, just for the unique natural scenery and peaceful villages. 📍Location and navigation Xiazhou Village, Xinchang County, Shaoxing City, is directly accessible from the navigation system and parking is free! 🚗 🚶Route planning Starting from Xiazhou Village, passing through Shimenkeng Village, Guituo Shoes, Baiyan Village, and finally returning to Xiazhou Village, a perfect loop is formed, which is about 10 kilometers in total. Although the journey is a little longer, every step is full of surprises. 🌄Itinerary On May 1st, at 10 o'clock in the morning on a sunny day, we arrived at our destination. Walking along the ancient road feels like entering a secret realm isolated from the world. At around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, we reluctantly left and headed to Xiayanbei Village to stay at a cozy B&B, ending the day's hiking trip. 🏞️Route features 🔸The ancient roads along the river, steep cliffs, strange rocks and deep valleys, seem to be the miraculous workmanship of nature. 🔸The paradise-like ancient village makes people feel as if they have traveled through time and space and returned to that innocent era. 🔸The blooming neem trees, brilliant wildflowers, and windmill jasmine clinging to the cliffs, every place is an excellent background for photography. 🍜Recommended supply points On the roadside of Shimenkeng Village, there is a small shop that sells tofu rice cake soup, rice noodles, and wheat noodles for only 15 yuan. The taste is very authentic and it is a perfect supply station during the hike. 🎒Equipment suggestions Waterproof hiking shoes or river-tracing shoes are a must, because on the section from Xiazhou Village to Shimenkeng Village, river water may overflow the ancient trail after rain. Comfortable, breathable clothing and sun protection are also essential. 💡Friendly reminder There is a section of dirt road under construction from Baiyan Village to Xiazhou Village. Please be careful when walking to avoid damaging your shoes. In addition to Hanfeijiang Ancient Trail, there are many beautiful hiking routes in Xinchang, Shaoxing, such as Yanbang Shibadu, Buffalo Back Stone Dog Cave, Anshan Ancient Trail, etc., which are all worth visiting. 📷Photo check-in point Every scenery along the way is a perfect place to take photos, especially the blooming wild flowers and ancient villages.
