In the holy land
Varanasi, India, is home to the Ganges River, which is considered a sacred place for the people.
A worship service called "Aarti Puja" is held on the Ganges River every day.
🗣️What is Puja? ?
It is a prayer ceremony mainly performed by Hindus.
This Aarti Puja aims to deepen faith and purify the mind by expressing respect for the gods and offering prayers.
Participants pray while floating lit lamps on the surface of the Ganges River, which is considered to be the source of life and a sacred presence.
It is believed that this act will cleanse the sins of the believers and give them divine energy.
I didn't really understand the content, but it was amazing to be able to experience spending this time together.
It was a time that allowed me to feel India.
If you come to Varanasi, this is a ceremony that you should definitely see.
Key points! 🥕Many people gather before sunset, so go early.
🥕Since it's a special occasion, go to the front. I wasn't sure how to reserve a spot, so I sat in an empty spot near the front.
🥕If you sit near the front, you can light the candles.
🥕It's a long ceremony, so you can leave midway through. There are an incredible number of people, so be sure not to get separated from your friends!!
🥕Since there are so many people, take precautions against pickpockets!!
