Bring comfy shoes, and there are many stairs and hills in the old town you can travel to the near by town for fish and chip, apparently I like fish and chip here more than London's 🤣 Can't recommend enough about Dean village, absolutely my favourite photo spot

In just 5–10 minutes, you’ll find yourself in the village. • Alternatively, you can take a bus to West End, the western tip of Princes Street, and walk from there. When to Go & What to Do • Combine it with a visit to Ross Fountain or stop by after Edinburgh Castle, as it’s just a short detour. • Allocate at least 2 hours if you want to fully enjoy the forest paths and riverside walk — it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and peaceful photography. Dean Village View Point is a tourist attraction found on Google Map. Later I found out that it is one of the hidden Instagram check-in spots. The quiet little village, the small bridge and the flowing water are full of fairy-tale colors. I personally think it is definitely one of the good places for photography in Edinburgh and one of the must-see attractions. Dean Village was once the site of a water mill. It is located below the new town, away from the old town where tourist attractions are concentrated. It is about a 30-minute walk away. It is closer to Haymarket and can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot. We first went to the Dean Village View Point shown on Google Map, and walked down a staircase. We soon arrived at a small village with a row of yellow houses. We walked down along the river and reached a blue bridge. Standing in the center of the bridge, you can take the most central and beautiful pictures here and appreciate the river and the buildings on both sides. You can also walk under the bridge and get closer to the river to appreciate the buildings and reflections along the shore. It's very fairy-tale-like! In addition to standing on the Blue Bridge, I personally think that the scenery at Bell’s Brae Bridge is beautiful, as it allows you to appreciate the front part of the river and the buildings along the coast from a higher angle. Then we walked to the bottom of The Dean Bridge, where there is a small waterfall. There are green areas on both sides of the river. Going straight ahead is the extension of the Water of Leith Walkway. There is a small hiking route and a quiet village in the city. The style is very un-Edinburgh, but very special! If you have time in Edinburgh, this is a place worth visiting! Dean Village is an underrated tourist attraction in Edinburgh . It is a residential area with people still living here. Please do show respect for other people’s privacy. Easiest way to get here is by taxi or Uber. You can alight at the intersection of Dean Path and Damside. From there you can follow the cobblestoned path to the bridge crossing the Water of Leith, a small waterway that snakes its way through Edinburgh. Don’t forget to visit Well Court, the most iconic building in the village. Along the way, you can also enjoy the nature, the river and the fresh air. Dean Village is about 10 mins drive from Edinburgh City centre. It is the quiet place with historic coloring buildings. From here, you could view the river, the reflection of houses and hear the sound of natural. It has a little vintage bridge and try to cross it to capture some nice photo moments there 😀

Dean village was previously where milling of water mills took place, of which remain still can be seen by visitors. The Dean bridge also can be found if you walk along the leith river. At the heart of the village is Well court, the most ironic building in the village that was built in the 1800s. A 1.2 kilometers 16 minutes walk from Haymarket station to this picturesque village.
