Guizhou Primitive Waterfall: Dripping Waterfall
The Dripping Waterfall is located 6 kilometers west of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, within the territory of Guanling County, about 4 kilometers north of Guanling County town, on the cliff of the west bank of the Baling River, east of Jiwo Tian Village. It faces Weixi Village on the east bank of the Baling River, and the best viewing point is about 1 kilometer south of Weixi Village at the observation deck.
Recommended route: Take the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway G60 to the Huangguoshu toll station, turn right and follow the Guizhou-Huang Highway southwest. At the three-way junction, take the left road, turn left and continue along the Guizhou-Huang Highway, first heading south, then west along the road, passing Xiaopo Village to the east bank of the Baling River. Then leave the Guizhou-Huang Highway, take the township and village roads, and proceed about 4 kilometers north along the east bank of the Baling River to reach the observation deck.
The waterfall has a total height of 410 meters, six times that of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, with the lowest layer being 130 meters, majestic and imposing. Standing on the top of the slope and looking at the entire waterfall, it resembles a celestial being dressed in a white skirt, revealing her figure amidst the vast cold greenery. Atop the mountain is the Buoyi ethnic village of Jiwo Tian, with its orderly and beautiful scenery, and 2 kilometers away from the village is a multi-level waterfall group (Dripping Waterfall). The beautiful countryside, tiered waterfalls, and the elegant and tranquil Buoyi village compose a beautiful pastoral landscape painting.
The Dripping Waterfall hangs on the mountain of Guansuo Ridge, consisting of three large waterfalls and dozens of medium and small waterfalls. The upper part is the Sky-reaching Waterfall (5 kilometers from Guanling County town), the middle is the Chongkeng Waterfall, and the lower is the Gaotan Waterfall. It embodies many features such as height, size, quantity, beauty, and wonder, leading in both total height and individual size among the Huangguoshu Waterfall group. Here, two mountains stand opposite each other, with Dapo Top to the east and Guansuo Ridge to the west, and in between is the 700-meter-deep Baling River Canyon.
