It is not a tourist spot, devoid of commercialism, and is a part of the historical years. 📍Detailed Address: You can locate the ancient dock of Dongbu Ancient Street in the Yaoli scenic area, which is one of the stops in the larger Yaoli scenic area. It is about 45 kilometers from Jingdezhen city center and 12 kilometers from Yaoli Ancient Town. ❤Recommended Reason: Dongbu Ancient Street rose to prominence due to the mining and transportation of kaolin clay, and it was an important mineral transport and commercial trade center on the ancient Huizhou-Raozhou trail, once one of the four famous streets of ancient Fuliang. ✅Must Experience: Walking down the steps from the stone bridge will take you to the ancient street. The street is one li long, with dozens of shops distributed along it, which in the past were mostly operated by Hui merchants. The signs of their businesses are still faintly visible, commonly known as the water dock. In ancient times, the street mainly dealt in daily necessities, cloth, tobacco and alcohol, workshops, and inns, serving kaolin miners, local residents, and passing merchants. The single-wheel carts that transported grain have been coming and going for hundreds of years, grinding deep grooves into the stone slabs of the street. The ancient commercial street prospered due to the mining and transportation of kaolin clay. Over the past 100 years, the single-wheel carts have smoothed the stone slabs in the deep grooves through their back-and-forth transportation. The Dongbu Ancient Street Museum is a small storefront within a row of wooden buildings, with a ticket price of 15 yuan. If you have already purchased the 110 yuan through ticket for the Yaoli scenic area, you can visit it along the way. Occasionally, you will see a path leading to the river next to the ancient street; stoop to pass under the floor and you will reach the riverbank. Across the river was the former dock, now commemorated by a stone stele of Dongbu. The small river meanders towards Yaoli Ancient Town. The ancient dock was a mining-specific dock for transporting kaolin clay to Jingdezhen, and it is still well-preserved. In ancient times, people from Duchang and Wuyuan engaged in the transport of clay here, forming boat associations. During the Ming Dynasty, because the ships transporting porcelain clay all loaded and unloaded goods in the East River within the territory of Hongtan Village, a large number of people and goods promoted the development of the village. The villagers built sundries, cloth, tobacco and liquor shops, inns, restaurants, and teahouses along the coast, forming a commercial street. By the Qing Dynasty, the street had extended to one kilometer, ranking among the four ancient streets of Fuliang County, becoming a wharf market town, and was renamed Dongbu, meaning the wharf on the east bank of the river. Judging from the existing shop names on the street, there were not only shops specializing in selling kaolin on the ancient street, but also pharmacies, cloth shops, shoe shops, tofu shops, pork shops and other types of shops, as many as dozens, very lively. The East River is one of the sources of the Changjiang River, the mother river of Jingdezhen. It originates from the Baishita in Yaoli, flows from northeast to southwest through Yaoli, Ehu, Zangwan, Wanggang and other towns, with a total length of more than 100 kilometers.
